Today, November 18th, 2008, the Stock Market and Dow Jones Futures are pointing much lower this morning. If the Dow Jones Industrial Average Futures stay this low, they will be gapping below the Oct 27th close of 8176. The Dow Jones Futures are lower by 145, the Nasdaq Futures down 28, and the S&P 500 Futures down 17. Check out my DJIA Technical Analysis chart I made last night. I will see how we open and adjust my portfolio from there. On a down note, if you follow Jim Cramer CNBC Mad Money, he said last night he thinks we are going much lower. There are just no buyers up here.

Stocks to Watch today: 11-18-08

Biggest Gainers

It will be interesting to see if we test below 8000 again and whether the bulls can show up for the 4th straight time. Something just doesn't seem right, these rallies keep failing. I will be watching some of the big cap tech stocks today such as Apple ( AAPL ) to see if that stock can hold $86 which has been key support. I'm looking for a statement out of Baidu.com ( BIDU ) to clarify the bad press it got over the weekend. From what I read, that could be coming out today. Yahoo's ( YHOO) CEO Jerry Yang finally stepped down, Yahoo stock is up in pre market.

UPDATE: Hewlett Packard ( HPQ ) out with great earnings of $1.03 vs $1.00 and is raising guidance for 2009. Stocks are now going up

Stock Market Futures 11/14/08 - Dow Jones Futures

11/14/08 Pre Market Trading Report:

The Dow Jones Futures are down 93, Nasdaq Futures Down 13, and the S&P 500 Futures are lower by 9. This weekend there is the G20 meeting and I think Wall Street is looking for something to come out of this meeting. Bob Doll was just on cnbc saying he believes we are in a bottoming process and he thinks yesterdays retest was successful and it happened with some decent volume.

The FTSE 100 index was up 146.04 points, or 3.5 percent, at 4,315.25, Germany's DAX rallied 163.52 points, or 3.5 percent, to 4,813.04, and the CAC-40 in France was 85.85 points, or 2.6 percent, higher at 3,355.30. In Asia, the Nikkei 225 index went up 223.75 to 8462 and the Hang Seng rose 321.31, or 2.4 percent, to 13,542.66.

Biggest Gainers 11/14/08

Stocks to Watch today: I will be watching the markets to see if we can build on these gains and not get a big correction. The QQQQ went back to resistance of $30.25 and closed over this level and while this is bullish, I will now look for a close over $30.70 which was Tuesday's high.

Dow Jones Futures - 11/05/08 - Stock Market Report

Pre Market Stock Trading Report: 11/05/08

Today, November 5th, 2008, the Stock Market and Dow Jones Futures are pointing lower this morning, the day after the United States has voted in Barack Obama as the next President of the United States of America. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ( DJIA ) Futures are down 68 points, S&P 500 Futures are down 13 points, and the Nasdaq is down 13 points today. It will be interesting to see what happens today as we have had a huge run in the stock markets over the past week. Will the Dow Jones continue to go up? Here was my technical chart over the weekend. We are very close to breaking 9794, but will we have enough left to break through that level?

Asian Markets - European Markets 11/05/08

European Stock Markets opened lower following the news that Barack Obama was going to be our next President. The FTSE 100 index of leading British shares was down 122.43 points, or 2.6 percent, at 4,517.07, while Germany's DAX was 110.15 points, or 2.1 percent, lower at 5,167.89. The CAC-40 in France was 101.10 points, or 2.7 percent, lower at 3,589.99.

Japan's Nikkei 225 stock average rose 4.5 percent to 9,521.24, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index went up 3.2 percent to 14,840.16. This was mainly due to the strong Yen currency.

Stocks to Watch today: November 5th, 2008

MasterCard ( MA ) & Visa ( V ) - I continue to watch these two stocks after Jim Cramer mentioned them yesterday calling for MasterCard to hit $180 in the next 48 hours.

Ambac ( ABK ) is falling this morning because after reporting an earnings loss of $8.45 per share.

CIT Group ( CIT ) - As I mentioned yesterday in the low $5's, watch this stock closely. It broke out to the upside right before the close and actually was trading at $6.80 in after hours last night. The stock has great volume and news so keep it on your watch lists.

Las Vegas Sands ( LVS ) & Hartford Financial ( HIG ) - Watch these two stocks, I only like them if they break through the highs of the day after 9:45am Est.

Dow Futures 11/04/08 - Stock Market Report

11/04/08 Pre Market Trading Report:

Today, November 4th, 2008, the Dow Futures and Stock Market's are set to jump higher as we get set to pick the next President today at the voting polls. On the morning of the Election, the Dow Jones Futures are surging 220 points, the S&P 500 is set to open 23 points higher, and the Nasdaq is up 32.50 points on the morning of 11/04. Libor Rates fell for the 6th straight session yesterday and there are more signs coming out that the credit markets are finally thawing. Don't forget Art Cashin's S&P 500 targets to watch.

Asian Markets - European Markets 11/04/08

Japan's Nikkei, spiked 537 points, or 6.3 percent, to 9,114.60 after being closed Monday. The FTSE 100 index was 0.49 points, or 0.01 percent, higher at 4,443.77, while Germany's DAX was up 21.59 points, or 0.4 percent, at 5,048.43. France's CAC-40 was 23.82 points, or 0.7 percent, higher at 3,551.79.

Stocks to Watch today: 11/04/08

I will be watching Hartford Financial ( HIG) as this stock has major momentum and volume, Las Vegas Sands ( LVS ) for any dip or strength. LVS has solid support at $12 so any breakdown through this would be bearish.

MasterCard ( MA ) - MasterCard came out with great earnings last night and the stock has traded into the mid $150's in after hours last night. This took Visa ( V ) up with it. Watch these two stocks.

Las Vegas Sands ( LVS ) - I continue to trade LVS as it continues to have the volatility and the volume. You can day trade this one all week most likely. I will try to get an updated technical chart up on LVS today.

Dry Ships ( DRYS ) - Drys reported earnings this morning of $3.53 per share. I wasn't expecting these earnings for awhile so i'm not sure if they pre released them. Anyway, the market is bidding $20 per share so I think the news is priced in. Baltic Shipping rates have tanked over the past few months hitting these bulk shipping stocks.

Stock Market 10/28/08 - Dow Jones Futures - October 28th, 2008

10/28/08 Pre Market Trading Report:

Today, October 24th, 2008, the stock market is set to open a lot higher then yesterday. The Dow Jones Futures and all stock market futures are up due to what the asian markets did below. The Dow Jones futures in pre market are Up 140 points, Nasdaq futures Up 30 points, and the S&P 500 futures are Up 20 points.

The stock market is headed for a great open today but the question is, how long will it last? We really tanked in the last five minutes yesterday, 10/27/08, and the futures aren't reflecting what the Nikkei and the Hang Send did last night just yet. Keep an eye on the QQQQ, if we break out through $30.25 I think these markets will soar! It will be the first time the QQQQ puts in a new high for the past week. The QQQQ is basically buying the Nasdaq 100 in a stock.

Asian Markets - European Markets 10/28/08

Hong Kong's Hang Seng index rose 14.4 percent last night, its biggest gain in 11 years -- to 12,596.29, a day after plunging more than 12 percent. South Korea's Kospi jumped 5.6 percent to 999.16.

Japan's Nikkei 225 index spiked 459.02 points, or 6.4 percent, to 7,621.92 after it failed early below 7,000 at one point. Most European market were about around 4% each.

Events Today: Today we have an FOMC meeting at 2:15pm Est. The Federal Reserve decides whether or not to cut interest rates.

10/24/08 Pre Market Trading Report:

Today, October 24th, 2008, we have a bit of a problem in the stock market today regarding the futures. There has been some huge losses in the Asian markets as you will see below and this has caused the Dow futures to be down over 550 and the SP 500 futures to be down over 60 points. The futures have been frozen unless they go up. Known as a limit down, meaning the circuit breaker has been hit because of the steep decline. The stock market futures cannot go any lower in pre market, but it can at the open. The futures can go higher if they want to. This could get interesting today!
