The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9497 on 9/8/09, as the stock market inched higher for the second straight day. The Dow Jones Futures started the day up around 70 points but the stock market sold off throughout the day. In the final two hours of trading, the stock market got back most of the gains and closed strong. The main factor in today's rally was the fact that $1000 gold took most commodity stocks higher. Oil and Natural Gas Prices also went up nicely was well.
Solar Stocks: Solar stocks were on fire today as Energy Conversion Devices, Inc. (ENER) was the talk of takeover chatter as well as Huge News out of First Solar, Inc. (FSLR). I think the Solar Stock bottom in finally in.

Stocks to Watch - 9/9/09 - Stock Market Ideas
American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG had a nasty downgrade by Credit Suisse on Tuesday which caused shares to fall around 10%. Once again, I will now be waiting for AIG to break back up through its high of the day to get into the stock. Last week's downgrade was a $10 price target so investors appear to be getting used to these low blows from analysts.
Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup hit a low of $4.65 Tuesday but I am not buying yet. I will add shares at $4.50 or if the stock can break back up through the high of day on Wednesday. It is important to note that Citi failed at $5 on Tuesday so as soon as the stock breaks $5 again, it will run. Check out my Citigroup Technical Analysis
Opexa Therapeutics, Inc. (OPXA) - OPXA stock exploded higher Tuesday after the company released positive Tovaxin data for MS. The stock was trading at $3.50 right before CNBC mentioned it and then it will blast off through the high of the day. OPXA is one to keep on your watch lists for days and weeks ahead. There is major resistance between $7-$8.
Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS gapped up Tuesday morning and broke up through $74.29 but could not hold it. The high of the day was $74.73 which now becomes resistance. As long as FAS remains above $70 I like FAS for a trade. If FAS breaks back below $70 I will jump into FAZ for a trade. It's very simple!
Bank of America Corp ( BAC ) - Bank of America Corporation continues to fail above the 10 day moving average which is now down to $17.28. As soon as the stock closes back over this level, I think you will see money pour back into the stock.
Cell Therapeutics, Inc ( CTIC ) - Will be buying CTIC again when it breaks Tuesday's high of $1.48
Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) - HEB broke $2.07 Tuesday but stopped at $2.15. This now becomes an important resistance level in the future. I will buy HEB again when it breaks $2.07 and add more when it breaks $2.15. This is strictly for a trade only.

First Solar FSLR to Build China Solar Plant
September 8, 2009 - Huge News out of First Solar, Inc. (FSLR) just released about 20 minutes ago. Besides the fact that FSLR is back over the 10 day moving average today, shares are soaring on the following news. Another reason why technical analysis can tip you off on when to get back into a stock. I added to my long position today and am very happy and well positioned.
First Solar to Team With Ordos City on Major Solar Power Plant in China Desert
First Solar today announced a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Chinese government to build a 2 gigawatt solar power plant in Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, China.
Pursuant to the MOU, signed in the presence of Chairman Wu Bangguo of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, the solar project in Ordos will be built over a multi-year period. Phase 1 will be a 30 megawatt demonstration project that will begin construction by June 1, 2010 and be completed as soon thereafter as practicable. Phases 2, 3 and 4 will be 100 megawatts, 870 megawatts, and 1,000 megawatts. Phases 2 and 3 will be completed in 2014 and Phase 4 will be completed by 2019.
“This major commitment to solar power is a direct result of the progressive energy policies being adopted in China to create a sustainable, long-term market for solar and a low carbon future for China,” First Solar CEO Mike Ahearn said at the signing ceremony. “We’re proud to be announcing this precedent-setting project today. It represents an encouraging step forward toward the mass-scale deployment of solar power worldwide to help mitigate climate change concerns.”
The project will operate under a feed-in-tariff which will guarantee the pricing of electricity produced by the power plant over a long-term period. Full Article

September 8, 2009 - SpongeTech Delivery Systems, Inc. (SPNG.OB) has come out with Reverse Stock Split news this morning. Shares of SPNG are set to open unchanged on this news as we approach the opening bell.
SpongeTech® Delivery Systems Announces Reverse Stock Split to Move Closer to NASDAQ Listing
SpongeTech® Delivery Systems, Inc. (“SpongeTech”) “The Smarter Sponge™”, (OTCBB: SPNG) today announced that its Board of Directors has unanimously approved a reverse split of SpongeTech®’s issued and outstanding capital stock at a 1-for-100 split ratio. The reverse stock split, which is expected to take effect on September 22, 2009, subject to receipt of necessary regulatory approvals, has also been approved by the holders of more than a majority of SpongeTech’s voting capital stock.
The same 1-for-100 reverse stock split ratio will be used to effect the reverse stock split of SpongeTech®’s issued and outstanding common stock, Class B Stock and preferred stock. Accordingly, all stockholders will be affected proportionately.

If you are unfamiliar with a 1 for 100 reverse stock split, the shares outstanding decrease by 100 while the stock price increases by 100. Instead of SPNG trading at $0.20, it would be trading at $20 per share with 100 times less shares. This reverse split will allow spng to apply for a listing on the Nasdaq.

Helicos BioSciences Corporation (NASDAQ:HLCS) today announced that the RIKEN Yokohama Institute Omics Science Center (OSC) has agreed to purchase four Helicos(TM) Genetic Analysis Systems. The transaction represents the first multisystem sale of the Helicos system to a large genome center. Shipments are expected to take place in September, with one system remaining in Cambridge to be used in a scientific collaboration between the two parties that began last year.
RIKEN's OSC recently received funding from the Japanese government to assume the role of the country's primary national DNA sequencing center. As part of Japan's renowned RIKEN, the OSC has the unifying objective of developing a multi-purpose, large-scale analysis center to elucidate molecular networks in biological systems. A major component of the national project for the RIKEN OSC is the "Cell Innovation Project", which is aimed at understanding cell function at the molecular level using next-generation and single-molecule sequencing technologies. September 8, 2009 - Shares of General Electric Co. (GE) will be getting a nice bounce today after JP Morgan has upgraded the stock.
Price Target - $17
JP Morgan sees potential upside surprises and feels the risk reward at current levels is very attractive.
General Electric Co. (GE) has been fighting the 10 day moving average for several days last week but today the stock is set to open over this level. Keep an eye on the previous high of $14.88. When I see GE stock close over this level, I will jump in.
