Dow Jones Futures 11/13/08 - Stock Market

How will the stock market open on Thursday, 11/13/08? The Dow Jones Futures are pointing lower by 15, the Nasdaq Futures are down 7, and the S&P 500 Futures are lower by 1. The Nikkei 225 index is 8259 down 435 points in the morning session.

These futures aren't nearly as bad as people suspected after the Intel Warning last night. It will be interesting to see how we open today off this news.

Check out how we closed yesterday in the stock market.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 8283 on 11/12/08, as more forced liquidation hit the market yet again and Henry Paulson said that the Government won't buy mortgage assets from banks but will inject capital into them. Wall Street did not like this one bit given today's trading. The Stock Market Futures were down this morning, The Dow Jones futures were actually down 100 at one point. Art Cashin gave some comments on retesting the lows this morning. Most stocks have been hit hard today! Google ( GOOG ) traded below $300 for the first time since 2005 as analysts who have been very late pile on and downgrade the company. Last week, Google was $370, but Barclays and Goldman Sachs wait until $300 to issue negative comments, it really makes no sense. Citigroup ( C ) is now in the single digits like Meredith Whitney said. ( AMZN ) is down 11% on no news? This is forced liquidation folks!

Today's Biggest Gainers - 11/12/08

There were a few!

So what now? On the Dow Jones, watch 8175, Nasdaq, 1493, SP 500, 840 ..... these are lows that must hold or else more forced selling will hit the markets. This is as bad as I've seen it yet for these stock markets. Rallying 1400 points on an Election in which everyone knew who was going to win months before it happened, and then crashing back down to retest the lows. I think we are setting up for another rip roaring rally soon! Just to much pessimism right now after everyone was high fiving each other last week! Everyone and their mother is bearish right now, typical bottom signs. Stay Tuned........

Dow Jones Open 11/12/08 - Stock Market

Today, 11/12/08, The Stock Market and Dow Jones are opening lower but are boucning off their lows. The Dow Jones opened up around 8500, down 190, but has since bounced around 50 points to only down 140. It seems as though the bargain hunters are stepping in here. We've gone down 1000 points in the Dow Jones in the past week. Maybe its time we get a reversal?
The Nasdaq is down 20 and the SP 500 is down 14 to a fresh low of 885.

Interesting stocks to watch, First Solar ( FSLR ) has come back to $120...if you can break through the highs of the day, this stock could really run. It seems someone is liquidating because the market is bouncing without First Solar.

Biggest Gainers Today - November 12th, 2008

Henry Paulson will be updating the nation on the tarp plan at 10:30 am est.

Art Cashin CNBC 11/12/08 - Retest of Lows

Art Cashin CNBC comments 11/12/08

In 1929 we had the low hit on November 13th ( which is tomorrow ), but i'd prefer to have made it in October. Maybe we did.

We will probably retest the lows, I hope that they hold, because from that you can get a massive rally that last several months. You can just feel like something is going to happen, the tension in the air down here on the floor.
