The following is technical & fundamental analysis for Visa ( V ) stock for 1/26/09. You can see a chart of this analysis by going to http://blackberrystocks.com/visa.html
Visa ( V ) Support and Resistance Levels:
Resistance - $47.50, $50, $52
Support - $43.50, $41.78, $40
Visa ( V ) has totally broken down and broken both low points ( $43.65 and $43.54 ) that formed the double bottom....this is very concerning and is bearish for the stock. Resistance is now at the $47.50 area and if Visa gets a close over this level, $50 will be tested. $50 is another strong resistance level but if closed above you could get buyers flowing back into the stock again. Right now, support appears to be at $42 for Visa. The problem with Visa stock is the company is so tied to the economy. With all the unknowns out there, speculating Analysts have nothing good to say about the current state of the economy and will downgrade a stock like Visa. The stock market typically turns upward six months before the economy starts to show improvement and Visa will be the first to turn with the market. My opinion - If Visa stock dips below $40 I will have to start a long position.

Dow Futures 11/04/08 - Stock Market Report
11/04/08 Pre Market Trading Report:
Today, November 4th, 2008, the Dow Futures and Stock Market's are set to jump higher as we get set to pick the next President today at the voting polls. On the morning of the Election, the Dow Jones Futures are surging 220 points, the S&P 500 is set to open 23 points higher, and the Nasdaq is up 32.50 points on the morning of 11/04. Libor Rates fell for the 6th straight session yesterday and there are more signs coming out that the credit markets are finally thawing. Don't forget Art Cashin's S&P 500 targets to watch.
Asian Markets - European Markets 11/04/08
Japan's Nikkei, spiked 537 points, or 6.3 percent, to 9,114.60 after being closed Monday. The FTSE 100 index was 0.49 points, or 0.01 percent, higher at 4,443.77, while Germany's DAX was up 21.59 points, or 0.4 percent, at 5,048.43. France's CAC-40 was 23.82 points, or 0.7 percent, higher at 3,551.79.
Stocks to Watch today: 11/04/08
I will be watching Hartford Financial ( HIG) as this stock has major momentum and volume, Las Vegas Sands ( LVS ) for any dip or strength. LVS has solid support at $12 so any breakdown through this would be bearish.
MasterCard ( MA ) - MasterCard came out with great earnings last night and the stock has traded into the mid $150's in after hours last night. This took Visa ( V ) up with it. Watch these two stocks.

Visa ( V ) Technical Analysis Stock Chart 9/05/08
The following is Technical Analysis for Visa ( V )...check out my Visa Stock Chart
Visa is closing to hitting support at around $70 but if $69.01 is closed below you could test $66.41 fast. All stocks are getting hammered lately so you can really have any stock you want at a bargin. If Visa went below $65, this would be attractive to me even though it would be broken. Resistance is $77.50 and $78.79. When these are closed above, Visa can get back on track again.

Technical Analysis: Visa ( V ) Ivanhoe Energy ( IVAN ) Stock Charts
This morning I updated my Visa ( V ), First Solar ( FSLR ), DryShips ( DRYS ), and Ivanhoe Energy ( IVAN ) technical analysis stock charts.
Visa ( V ) is one that really sticks out to me as this stock is getting ready to move hard one way or under. It has formed triangle pattern and is near the breaking point, either a break out or a break down. A close below $69 would be a break down....a close above $76.40 could start a nice breakout. Keep an eye on this stock!
The Haynesville Shale stocks have been hot over the past few days.....CHK and XTO. Keep an eye on these stocks as they have gotten slaughtered over the past month. If Nat gas and Oil move higher these will move even bigger.

Moody's might cut American Express AXP rating
CNBC is reporting that Moody's might end up cuting the rating of American Express ( AXP )....this news has caused the Dow to decline even more here in the last hour. Mastercard ( MA ) and Visa ( V ) are also sinking with this news.
Something to keep an eye on also....Oil - There is a pipeline in Turkey that has gone down which transports 1 million barrels per day. When the news hit early this morning Oil prices took off up $3 at one point....they have since come back down. This pipeline is due back up in 2 weeks.
Natural Gas is plunging yet again after going above $9 this morning. One of these day Nat Gas will be up huge.
Tonight I will be watching Jones Soda ( JSDA ) earnings. I know the stock is only $2.50 but I happen to believe in the brand and I think once they get things in order...this stock can go to $10-$15 per share. I assess this company quarter to quarter and I will be getting back in one of these days.

Earnings 7-30 4pm - Visa ( V ) First Solar ( FSLR ) Akamai ( AKAM )
After a great night last night from BWLD, Garmin came in with some very bad news this morning on their Nuvifone delay.
Tonight we have a number of companies due to report earnings
Visa (V) - Analysts are expecting Visa to earn .48 cents per share. This stock has really run up going into earnings but I expect a good report. How the stock reacts is a totally different story. Last quarter Visa was down big after the earnings release...opened the next day at $71....ran the whole day and closed near $78. They earned .52 cents last quarter.
First Solar (FSLR) - Analysts are expecting First Solar to earn .58 cents a share. FSLR is trading at a very high p/e ratio so any miss or guidance miss would be a huge disappointment and you would see FSLR really go down. If they come out and beat, and then raise...you could see First Solar really break out.
Akamai ( AKAM ) - I really like this company....Akamai basically powers the internet with their technology. Most of the Video that runs on the Internet is powered by Akamai.
That website shows you the traffic through Akamai system....it has basically doubled from a year ago. Earnings Guidance will be key tonight...so watch AKAM

This morning in premarket you will want to watch CLR as they reported some nice earnings. Earnings reports continue to come out...so far they are so so.
