Penny Stock Gainers - April 7, 2009


Silicon Graphics Inc. (SGIC) - $0.85 Up 74% - Fallen star SGI to sell most assets for $25M - Not sure why this stock keeps going higher after the sale was announced last week.


La Jolla Pharmaceutical Co. (LJPC) - $0.215 Up 19.44% - LJPC up on No News

Sunrise Senior Living Inc. (SRZ) - $1.02 Up 22.89% - SRZ exploding higher this morning - Form 8-K for SUNRISE SENIOR LIVING INC

General Growth Properties Inc. (GGP) - $1.12 Up 15.46% - Ok, how stupid can a company be? Your stock goes down 99% to below $1....it then bounces above $1.00, Up 30%, and the company comes out and bashes itself? Wow! So why didn't this company come out with a press release when the stock was $40 and say they have no clue why the stock is trading at $40, it should be $1. Anyway, I did well on this stock yesterday but will not be trading it any longer due to management. Downgraded

Dune Energy Inc. (DNE) - $0.135 Up 22.73% - Dune Provides 2009 Operational and Capital Forecast.

Spansion Inc. (SPSN) - SPSN was up, now down, worth watching
TXCO Resources, Inc. (TXCO) - TXCO was trading at $0.90 in after hours last night, hit $0.69 this morning and bounced back to $0.75 resistance. Will be watching this stock!

Stocks to Watch - 4/7/09 - Stock Market Ideas

General Growth Properties, Inc ( GGP ) - GGP was a rocket stock on Monday. I bought this stock around 12:15pm at $0.938 and thought I sold it at $0.98. Thirty minutes later I checked my account and it turns out I only sold half.....I then sold the other half at $1.25. I make the most money when I find things in my portfolio I didn't sell lol. Anyway, this stock is breaking out on massive volume. As soon as it broke $1.00 it took off! $1.00 is now support. The volume in the first 2 1/2 hours was 10 million. The next two hours, GGP traded another 22 million shares. I will be watching this stock again tomorrow. Read this story before you start trading GGP.

TXCO Resources Inc. ( TXCO ) - TXCO is a stock worth watching as well. After bouncing off the 10 day moving average on Friday, TXCO is now breaking out. I will most likely wait for tomorrow and if TXCO breaks up through today's high of $0.75, I will jump in for a trade. I will also use a stop at $0.70. TXCO could be on its way back to the 50 day moving average at $1.04 as of Monday. I like this little natural gas company because they has a nice position in the Eagleford Shale in South Texas. If Natural Gas ever comes back, the EagleFord Shale is a hot spot!

MGM MIRAGE ( MGM ) - MGM Mirage Weighs Sale of Detroit, Gulf Casinos - MGM has really gone up over the past several trading sessions so i'd be careful here. Support is now at $6 and if enough buyers step into MGM stock, the upside could be around $8.00.

Dendreon Corporation ( DNDN ) - Dendreon shares continue to rise ahead of conference - I have been watch DNDN all day and noticed it is having a hard time getting back above $7. If we open above $7 Tuesday, Dendreon could be subject to another upside move. I haven't traded this yet however. Waiting for a dip!

Financials: I am also watching the following financials on Tuesday, one day after the Mike Mayo report caused a sell-off.

Citigroup ( C ) - Needs to stay above $2.72 - 10 day moving average
Bank of America ( BAC ) - BAC stock needs to stay above $7.20 - 10 day moving average
Financial Bull ( FAS ) - Needs to stay above $6.47 - 50 day moving average
Financial Bear ( FAZ ) - A break above $17.24 would be bullish!!

Stocks to Watch - 3/24/09 - Stock Market Ideas

Sonic Corp. (SONC) - $10.15 Up 9.38% - This was probably the best time all year to release earnings afterhours - Sonic Reports Second Quarter Earnings.

Financials - The Bank Stocks continued their recent uptrend and are looking good from a technical basis. I will be watching the Financial Bull ( FAS ) stock as more buying could flow into the financials tomorrow. If the FAS stock starts to break down, you might want to switch back into the Financial Bear ( FAZ ). These two stocks are extremely volatile and you can make a living day trading these two stocks! Citigroup ( C ), Bank of America ( BAC ), American International Group ( AIG ), and Wells Fargo ( WFC ) are also stocks worth watching tomorrow! As of now, money seems to be flowing back into the bank stocks so that is why FAS could see further upside.

Direxion Emerging Markets Bull 3X Shares ( EDC ) - EDC stock was on fire as risk appetite seems to be increasing. EDC doesn't have much volume but that could change soon!

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 8480 on 11/25/08, as the recent gains have held from Friday, Monday, and with the help of the government buying mortgage backed securities. Barack Obama also gave a new conference updating America on where he stands with the financial crisis. President Elect Obama has been working hard over the past week assuring Americans that although he is not the President as of yet, he is working hard to prepare himself from when he does take office. The Dow Jones surged in the final hour today on word that Fitch Rating Agency has upgraded Morgan Stanley's ( MS ) credit rating. MS sub debt is now rated " A ". This is very positive news for the financial sector and the overall stock market. Hot Stocks today included Google ( GOOG ) and Baidu ( BIDU ) as these two were incredibly oversold and are now bouncing. Citigroup ( C ) briefly traded over $6.50 but could not hold....I will continue watching this stock closely. If it breaks $5.70 I think it could go back to $5.
I will have analysis on the Dow Jones right here later tonight for the trading day tomorrow.

Today's Biggest Gainers - November 25, 2008 - Etrade ( ETFC ) was up big today as well as GGP. Las Vegas Sands ( LVS ) is another stock worth watching. D.R Horton ( DHI ) has made a late day surge in price today, closing up over 45% for the day.

Pre Market Trading - Stock Market 10/8/08

This morning 10/8/08 in the stock market, Europe and the United States pursued a global rate cut for the first time since November 2001. Stock Markets have been skyrocketing around the globe off this news. Dow Jones is up 200 points on this news, Nasdaq up 23, S&P 500 up 29 points.

Japans Nikkei went down 9.4% last night, the worst we've seen in that market since the crash in 1987. There was steep losses all across the globe before this rate cut.

Stock to Watch today: RBS, GOLD, LYG, GGP, HOV, LDK, SOV as these stocks are todays biggest gainers so far.

Day Trading 10/8/08 - What will I be trading today in the stock market? Apple ( AAPL ), Potash ( POT ), First Solar ( FSLR )....buy these stocks when they break through their high of the day and sell them when you get profits. Short them when they break the lows of the day.
