The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 8916 on 7/21/09, as the stock market was up after a good earnings quarter from Caterpillar Inc. (CAT). The Dow Jones Futures were down overnight but then turned into the green around 7am EST. After the Caterpillar earnings were released, the stock market futures exploded higher. The Dow Jones traded up to 8927 but then fell all the way down to 8811 just after 1pm. In the final hours, the averages rebounded and closed near the highs. All eyes will be on the following earnings reports tonight which will move the market tomorrow.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) - Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) - Starbucks Corp. (SBUX) - Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO)

Tomorrow Morning: Morgan Stanley (MS) - Boeing Co. (BA) - Wells Fargo & Company (WFC)

The hottest sector today was Healthcare. Stocks such as Pfizer Inc. (PFE) - Merck & Co. Inc. (MRK) and Schering-Plough Corporation (SGP) were strong while shares of Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (JAZZ) surged in the final 45 minutes of trading today. Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) will be holding a conference call tomorrow to talk about an upcoming FDA decision on Ampligen. Hemispherx HEB Conference Call 7/22/09 - July 22, 2009

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) stock is breaking out today, $2.92 Up 17.50%, one day before a conference call to update shareholders on influenza prevention. HEB is breaking out above the previous June 2009 high of $2.85 which is bullish.

Ampligen: HEB is also waiting for an FDA decision on their CFS drug Ampligen. Investors and Traders could be getting in with anticipation that we will hear an positive update on Ampligen. After seeing what happened to Human Genome Sciences Inc. (HGSI), an FDA approval for Ampligen could be explosive for HEB.

Caterpillar CAT Stock Earnings July 21 2009

7/21/09 - Caterpillar Inc. (CAT) stock is surging up 9.5% to $40.15 after the company just released better then expected earnings and what appears to be better guidance. Keep an eye on two resistance levels of $40.45 and $45.45, then its to the $50's.

Stock Market Futures

The Dow Jones had another nice pop today and is poised to break through the June 2009 high of 8878. A close above this level would set up a run toward 9000 and the 2009 high of 9088.06. Dow 8500 should now offer huge support and would be a buying opportunity. If we get near 9000 over the next few days, I might start putting on some short positions for a trade.

Stocks to Watch - 7/21/09 - Stock Market Ideas

Human Genome Sciences Inc. (HGSI) - HGSI released positive Lupus drug data Monday morning and the stock exploded over 200%. I am watching the $11.07 high as well as the high $11.95 high back in the first week of 2008. If HGSI can close above $11.95, it could potentially trade back into the $14-$15 range from 2007. A break below $9 at any point would be bearish and i'd avoid the stock.

MOTORS LIQUIDATION (MTLQQ.PK) - MTLQQ is the old General Motors Corp ( GMGMQ.PK) which is trading back over $0.50. Please note, if you are trading this stock, keep an eye on support at $0.47. A close back below $0.47 would be bearish.

SpongeTech Delivery Systems, Inc. (SPNG.OB) - SPNG stock traded higher Monday after it was reported that the CEO and COO are buying shares. I am watching for a break above $0.13 before I get interested in SPNG again. Resistance is also at $0.15

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) - HEB had a nice pop Monday and is now back on a lot of stock trader radar's. As long as HEB can continue to close over the 50 day moving average ( which is now $2.12 ) it will be ok. Keep in mind that at any moment we could receive an FDA approval decision on their CFS drug ampligen. This would be a huge market moving event one way or the other. If HEB can break $2.85, I think it could take off again. If HEB somehow does receive FDA approval on their CFS drug, it could pull a HGSI type move or greater.

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - CTIC continues to hold that $1.37 support level after closing back over it this week. As long as CTIC holds $1.22, I like the stock. A close over $1.50 would be huge and probably bring the volume back to the stock.

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS stock continues to fail near $50. Buying FAZ below has been a great trade. If FAS does end up breaking above $50, it could run nicely but then i'd be looking to start buying FAZ for a trade. I am only a buyer of FAS below $40 from this point on.as of right now.

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup stock broke down huge on Monday taking out two support levels, $3 and $2.85. Look for the next support zone ( $2.55 - $2.60 ) to attract some buyers who missed the last move. A close below $2.55 would be bearish and i'd avoid the stock completely. I want to be a buyer of Citigroup on a close above $3.20 which would be a technical breakout.

Bank of America Corp ( BAC ) - Bank of America Corporation was very weak on Monday and retested all three major moving averages. The bottom one is the 200 day moving average located at $12.09. There is also strong support at $12. I am a little concerned because BAC stock was down all day when the market was up. At this point, I only want to own BAC above $12 so I would be placing a stop at $11.99. If $12 ends up failing and you get stopped out, you can always buy it back when it closes back abgove $12. Earnings are out, I don't see any positive catalyst to move the stock up significantly over the next three months. Long Term this is an area to start scaling back in however. If you are trading it, wait to see if $12 holds.

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG stock seems to be calming down a bit as it traded in the $13's all day Monday. The volume has also died down as well. I am watching the $13.93 high as well as the $13.14 low. Whatever price breaks first is where AIG is headed for

the next several trading days. I will be buying a break through $13.93 for a quick trade.

Buy on the Dip - Below is a list of stocks I am willing to buy if we get a pullback. In addition to the price I want to pay, I also provide key levels to watch which are known as support and resistance levels. Support = buying support ( where buyers are likely to be located ), Resistance = selling resistance ( where the sellers are likely to be selling ).

Visa Inc. (NYSE: V) - $60 - Love Visa long term - Support $64 and $62 which are the 10 & 50 day moving averages, Resistance $67.20 which was the June 12th high then $70.

MasterCard (MA) - $156 - Also love Mastercard long term - Support $169, Resistance 188.59 which was the late April high.

Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan, Inc. (POT) - $85 - Support $90, $85 - Resistance $97, $100

Apple (AAPL) - $120 - Support $143, $137, Resistance $158, $167
