The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 8916 on 7/21/09, as the stock market was up after a good earnings quarter from Caterpillar Inc. (CAT). The Dow Jones Futures were down overnight but then turned into the green around 7am EST. After the Caterpillar earnings were released, the stock market futures exploded higher. The Dow Jones traded up to 8927 but then fell all the way down to 8811 just after 1pm. In the final hours, the averages rebounded and closed near the highs. All eyes will be on the following earnings reports tonight which will move the market tomorrow.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) - Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) - Starbucks Corp. (SBUX) - Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO)

Tomorrow Morning: Morgan Stanley (MS) - Boeing Co. (BA) - Wells Fargo & Company (WFC)

The hottest sector today was Healthcare. Stocks such as Pfizer Inc. (PFE) - Merck & Co. Inc. (MRK) and Schering-Plough Corporation (SGP) were strong while shares of Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (JAZZ) surged in the final 45 minutes of trading today. Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) will be holding a conference call tomorrow to talk about an upcoming FDA decision on Ampligen.
