SolarCity (SCTY) Conviction Buy Goldman Sachs - 2014 Upgrades

SolarCity (SCTY) Upgraded to Conviction Buy at Goldman Sachs -

SolarCity (SCTY) is higher by 5.6% in pre market this morning to $62.60 after Goldman Sachs named the stock a conviction buy and raised the price target from $65 to $80 - http://www.stockstobuy.org/forum/topics/solarcity-scty-upgraded-to-conviction-buy-goldman-sachs.

SolarCity (SCTY) should gain even more momentum today and could end up breaking the all time high of $65.30.  We will be watching it in the Stock Picks Group.  My previous price target range has now been broken.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc GS Stock Analysis

The following is technical analysis on Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS) for October 15, 2009

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS) Support & Resistance Levels - 10/15/09

Resistance Levels - $201.42, $210

Support Levels - $187, $173.21

Discuss Stocks - http://stockstobuy.org

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS) will be releasing earnings Thursday morning. GS is expected to post around $4.25 in EPS.

As for a the technicals, the stock is getting close to a major resistance level which hasn't seen seen since May 2008. I am watching $201.42 closely. If GS closes above this level, it could set up a move to $220-$240 by the end of the year. I would then want to keep a stop loss order at $195.On the downside, I like pullbacks to the 50 day moving average located at $173.21. For More Technical Analysis - Go Here

Apple AAPL Downgraded 12/15/08 Goldman Sachs

Apple Computer ( AAPL ) has been downgraded today, December 15, 2008, by Goldman Sachs to Neutral from Buy. Weak consumer spending in the short term, and risk of the stock's valuation premium coming down if iPhone sales fall short of expectations in the first half of 2009. Goldman Sachs also removed Apple from Americas Buy List.

"Shipments of MacBooks, iPod nanos, and iPhone were all slightly lower than what was expected going into the (December) quarter," analyst David Bailey wrote in a note to its clients.

Goldman Sachs ( GS ) catches Buffett & Berkshire

You know, I was watching the stock market close today like I do every day, and I noticed two things. At about 3:53pmEST the market was tanking and Goldman Sachs ( GS ) was starting to take off. GS went from $119 to $125 on heavy volume but I could not find any news.

Well look what has the stock market futures taking off tonight!

The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (NYSE: GS) announced today that it has reached an agreement to sell $5 billion of perpetual preferred stock to Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. in a private offering. The preferred stock has a dividend of 10 percent and is callable at any time at a 10 percent premium. In conjunction with this offering, Berkshire Hathaway will also receive warrants to purchase $5 billion of common stock with a strike price of $115 per share, which are exercisable at any time for a five year term.

In addition, Goldman Sachs is raising at least $2.5 billion in common equity in a public offering.
“We are pleased that given our longstanding relationship, Warren Buffett, arguably the world’s most admired and successful investor, has decided to make such a significant investment in Goldman Sachs. We view it as a strong validation of our client franchise and future prospects,” said Lloyd C. Blankfein, Chairman and CEO of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. “This investment will further bolster our strong capitalization and liquidity position.”

“Goldman Sachs is an exceptional institution,” said Warren Buffett, Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. “It has an unrivaled global franchise, a proven and deep management team and the intellectual and financial capital to continue its track record of outperformance.”
