Resistance Levels - $1.69, $1.80, $2.00

Support Levels - $1.50, $1.42

Etrade had a huge breakout day on Friday and closed above the $1.58 resistance. The breakout was on heavy volume and the stock is now breaking up and away from all three major moving averages. Aside from the high of $1.69 on Friday, the next key resistance levels are located at $1.80 and $2. A break above $2 would get me to buy the stock and a close over $2 would get me to buy even more. Pullbacks to the 10 day moving average should offer a great deal of support going forward given the move on Friday. For More Technical Analysis - Go Here

AIG FRE FNM CTIC Stock April 14, 2009

After an incredible Goldman Sachs ( GS ) earnings report last night, Shares of Citigroup ( C ) are flying in pre market. This is causing some other government backed stocks to surge as well.

American International Group ( AIG ): AIG stocks is trading at $1.61 in pre market trading. I am watching support at $1.54, if this continues to hold, look for the $2.00 high to be tested. If $2 is closed over, look for $2.12 and then $2.84. Support at $1.00 has been solid over the past month.

Freddie Mac ( FRE ) - FRE stock is trading at $1.04....watch the major resistance level of $1.50 but a close over $1.25 will get Freddie moving.

Fannie Mae ( FNM ) - FNM stock is trading at $1.03 in pre market, I am also watching $1.25 and major resistance at $1.43....a break up through this level would be huge!!

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - CTIC crashed yesterday but is rebounded on the following news. I won't get interested again until CTIC breaks up through $0.45.

Also: Cell Therapeutics Initiating Rolling NDA Submission for Pixantrone

Etrade Financial ( ETFC ) - Etrade is gapping over the 200 day moving average at $1.97. This will act as support during the trading day today. Next resistance levels are $2.24 and $2.85

Stocks to Watch - 4/14/09 - Stock Market Ideas

Financials: How about those financials! The stock market was down for most of the day on Monday yet most of the financials were higher. I will be watching the following bank stocks for Tuesday!

Citigroup ( C ) - Citi continues the recent one month uptrend taking out the $3.35 resistance level Monday...looks like next stop - $3.89. Pullbacks below $3.00 are now a strong buy!

Bank of America ( BAC ) - B of A stock continues the break out! $12.50 would be my next resistance target where BAC would stall and the profit taking would come in. Pullbacks under $8 are a strong buy

American International Group ( AIG ) - AIG stock for a trade could work now that its trading back over the 10 day moving average. I am watching the first resistance level of $1.54 which was the late March high and also $2.00 which is the 2009 high.

Etrade ETFC Applies for Tarp 11/25/08

Etrade Financial ( ETFC ) stock is breaking out to the upside 11/25/08 as they try to tap into the TARP Program. ETFC stock price is $1.20 up 35% today. It is among today's biggest gainers.

Nov 25, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- E*TRADE FINANCIAL Corporation (ETFC) today announced it continues to work constructively with regulators through each phase of its application for the U.S. Treasury's TARP Capital Purchase Program. The Company remains optimistic that it will receive the necessary approvals and expects to make an announcement in the near future.

E*Trade Financial Corp. (ETFC) said it's continuing to work with regulators on its application for the U.S. Treasury Dept.'s capital purchase program. The company said it is confident it will get the necessary approvals soon.

The lender and online broker's update comes a week after it said October was its best month in more than five years for new account openings. However, the company's shares have continued to fall as worried investors awaited news of the pending application for the government's Troubled Assets Relief Program.
