LDK Solar Raises Outlook for Third Quarter of 2010

LDK Solar Co., Ltd. ("LDK Solar") (NYSE: LDK), a leading manufacturer of multicrystalline solar wafers and PV products, today provided an updated outlook for its third quarter 2010 financial results. For the third quarter of 2010, LDK Solar expects to report revenue in the range of $610 to$640 million, wafer shipments of 550 to 570 megawatts (MW), and module shipments of 80 MW to 90 MW. The Company`s prior guidance for the third quarter was revenue of $570 to $600 million, wafer shipments of 520 to 550 MW, and module shipments of 75 to 85 MW.

At the end of September 2010, LDK Solar`s manufacturing capacity reached, as previously planned,11,000 MT in polysilicon, 2.6 gigawatts (GW) in wafers, 120 MW in cells, and 760 MW in modules. As of the end of the third quarter, cash balances, including pledged bank deposits, were approximately $800 million. Full Article

Marvell Technology Group Ltd. will need to hold the 50 day moving average located at $16.45. If Marvell can close above this level, the next major resistance level is located at $17.90.

Marvell Technology Group Ltd. Reports Second Quarter of Fiscal 2011 Results

Marvell (Nasdaq: MRVL - News), a global leader in integrated silicon solutions today reported financial results for the second quarter of fiscal 2011, ended July 31, 2010.
Net revenue for the second quarter of fiscal 2011 was $896 million, a 40 percent increase from $641 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2010, ended August 1, 2009, and a 5 percent sequential increase from $856 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2011, ended May 1, 2010.
GAAP net income was $220 million, or $0.33 per share (diluted), for the second quarter of fiscal 2011, compared with a GAAP net income of $58 million, or $0.09 per share (diluted), for the second quarter of fiscal 2010. GAAP net income in the first quarter of fiscal 2011 was $206 million, or $0.30 per share (diluted)

Share Repurchase Program

Marvell also announced today that its Board of Directors has authorized a program to repurchase up to $500 million of its outstanding common shares, depending on market conditions and other factors.

LDK Solar ( LDK ) Technical Analysis:

If this strong performance in LDK can hold in pre market and the stock can get some upside volume after the opening today, I think you could have a nice break out. Like all solar stocks, LDK has really been beaten down this year. LDK Solar has strong support at $15 per share, this is where i'd put a stop if I was in the stock. Next support area is about $13. As for Resistance, LDK has minor resistance at $17.50 and a push through this level could take it to $20 per share. If LDK pushes through $17.50 it would be wise to put in a stop at $17.50.
