Stock Market Close August 21, 2015 - The stock market had one of it's worst closes since 2011 as the death cross is scared a lot of people.  Media outlets such as CNBC will cite growth concerns but our economy is doing just fine.  The fact of the matter is Oil crashed which caused China to crash.  With these two factors already making investors nervous, the chart for the Dow Jones, S&P 500, NASDAQ, and Russell 2000 are seeing bearish technicals which was a sell signal.

Dow Jones Industrial Average ( DJIA ) Close - 16459.75 Down 530.94
Nasdaq Stock Market Close - 4706.04 Down 171.45
S&P 500 Close - 1970.89 Down 64.84

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9506 on 8/21/09, as the stock market surged on a better then expected existing homes figure. The Dow Jones Futures started the morning in the green and then stock market inched up after the open. As soon as we received news that existing homes sales jumped 7.2%, the stock market ripped higher and never looked back. The Dow Jones broke two key resistance levels of 9438 and 9500. The next major level I am watching out for is the November election high of 9654. Check out some of the events I will be watching for Monday. Baltic Dry Index Shipping Rates 8/21/09 BDI

The BDI data is critical for how the DryBulk Shipping Stocks such as DryShips Inc ( DRYS ), Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd( EXM ), Diana Shipping Inc ( DSX ), Genco Shipping & Trading Limited ( GNK ), TBS International Limited ( TBSI ), Navios Maritime ( NM ), Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. ( EGLE ), Paragon Shipping Inc. ( PRGN ), Star Bulk Carriers Corp. ( SBLK ), and OceanFreight Inc ( OCNF ) will trade during the day. As you probably know, the Dry Bulk Shipping index can tell you a lot about the state of the World Economy. When Bulk Shipping Rates are at all time highs, the World Economy is outstanding. Stocks to Watch - 8/21/09 - Stock Market Ideas

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG exploded higher again on Thursday, this time, with heavy volume. Resistance is currently located at $35 as well as $38.60 from May 2009. I like trading AIG as long as it remains over $30. I'd be a buyer of pullbacks below $27 if the stock ends up selling off.

SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) - SIRI continue the break out which started last week. Resistance is located at $0.75 and then $1.00. If SIRI can get back above $11, look for a huge buying surge to occur. Check out my SIRI Technical Analysis

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Back over the 200 day moving average ( currently at $4.26 ). Citigroup is now hitting resistance in the $4.40's. I am long the stock and will now be an aggressive buyer on pullbacks to the 200 day moving average. I will also be a buyer when Citigroup can break above $4.48. Personal Target - $5-$5.50. Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS is back trading over $70...if you are trading these two stocks, FAS is in charge again. As soon as FAS breaks down through $70, I will be trading FAZ. FAS has resistance at $75 and $79.36. If the market has another leg higher FAS could be headed to $100. These are trading stocks....always have to take profits when you get them.

Bank of America Corp ( BAC ) - Bank of America Corporation is having a decent day but it seems that all the attention is on Citigroup today. BAC will get moving again if it breaks $17.93. If the stock does get a major pullback, I plan to buy aggressively

Freddie Mac (FRE) - Love FRE as long as it remains over $1.50, the next major resistance levels I will be watching out for are $1.61 & $1.69. Would be cautious below $1.50 however.

Fannie Mae (FNM) - Resistance $1.12 & $1.18, then you could really see FNM move. I only like this stock above $1.00.

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - Investors are expecting an application decision out of the FDA on Monday, August 24, 2009. Two major resistance levels I am watching are located at $1.85 and $1.90.

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) - Still looking to buy on a break above $2.....should see a nice pop when this happens!
