The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9350 on 8/20/09, as the stock market rallied after the China Stock Market rebounded. The Dow Jones Futures were slightly higher when I woke up but then declined after a worse then expected initial jobless claims report. The stock market went positive right after the open and got stronger throughout the day. Citigroup, AIG, FNM, FRE led the financials as Google led tech sector after a buy conviction buy upgrade out of Goldman Sachs.

Tomorrow will be another interesting day as we go into the final full week of August next week. I will be watching the Dow Jones and what it does if 9438 resistance is broken. We could be looking at another surge in the markets if the Dow can close over 9438. Meanwhile, I continue to buy Citigroup on the recent breakout. I will be looking to add to my position on any pullbacks to the 200 day moving average. Currently, the 200 day moving average of Citigroup is located at $4.26. Check out some of the events I will be watching for Friday.

Siri broke above the April 2009 high of $0.63 today. The next major resistance I am watching is $0.75 from Sept 2008. A close over $0.75 would set up a retest of $1.00 per share and the $1.08 high also from last Sept. Pullbacks to the 10 day moving average should be bought ( $0.55 ). Citigroup continues to trade along with the 10 day moving average ( currently at $3.96 ). Resistance at $4.24 has been tough mainly because the stock is so close to the 200 day moving average. I am long the stock and will add more when #1 Citigroup breaks $4.24, #2 Citigroup closes over the 200 day moving average, #3 Citigroup breaks $4.48. Stock Market Futures

The Dow Jones keeps surprising people as it retests the 10 day moving average. A lot of people are calling for a pullback so they can buy back into the market right now. A close back over the 10 day moving average would be very bullish and could send us back to retest the recent 9438 high. Tomorrow we will get an initial jobless claims figure which could really move the market one way or the other. As long as the Dow Jones remains over 9000, I am bullish. Stocks to Watch - 8/20/09 - Stock Market Ideas

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG stock exploded higher Wednesday, breaking up through $25 and then $26.50. The next major resistance level I am watching is $28 followed by $30. I will be adding to my long position when those prices are broken. Don't expect a 100% move like the last time because the volume isn't that high.

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - CTIC stock popped through several key resistance levels Wednesday. Investors are expecting an application decision out of the FDA on Monday, August 24, 2009. Two major resistance levels are yet to be broken which are located at $1.85 and $1.90.

American Axle & Manufact. Holdings, Inc. (AXL) - AXL received two price target upgrades Wednesday and right after the open, AXL stock surged yet again. Two key resistance levels to watch are $7.11 ( Wednesday's High ) and $8.31.

Rentech, Inc. (RTK) - RTK was hot in the morning but then cooled off going into the afternoon. I'd be a buyers if I see a dip back below $2. At this point, it seems unlikely.

Cerus Corporation (CERS) - CERS was one of the hottest stocks on Wednesday. Keep an eye on $3.46 resistance as well as $4.50.

SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) - SIRI stock is starting to break out....a close over $0.63 would be huge!!

American Scientific Resources, Inc. (ASFX.PK) - Don't usually mention these types of stocks but thought I would do it anyway. ASFX was up over 500% on the following news. American Scientific Resources To Be Exclusive Seller of World's Only FDA Approved Home Needle Destruction Device. Resistance is located at $0.01 & $0.014

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - It looks like that sell off was short lived. FAS has great support below $65. I will be buying FAS a break above $70 for a quick trade. Staying away from FAZ right now until I see which direction the stock market is headed next.

Bank of America Corp ( BAC ) - Bank of America Corporation continues to look tired. Didn't really participate in the rally but neither did Citigroup. BAC could just be stalling before the next leg higher. Watching $17.93 resistance closely.

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - C stock continues to show strength despite whether we are down or not. I own this stock and will be adding to my position when Citi breaks above $4.24. The 200 day moving average is now located at $4.30 so Citigroup could break out at any time.

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) - HEB continues to drip lower.....waiting for a break up above $2 and then I will buy for a trade.

Freddie Mac (FRE) - Looking to buy on a break above $1.50....not any sooner

Fannie Mae (FNM) - Looking to buy on a break above $1.00....not any sooner
