The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9711 on 9/30/09, as the stock market went on a roller coaster ride but ended lower. The Dow Jones Futures started the day higher but as soon as we received the Chicago Purchasing report, the stock market tanked. By 1pm EST, the stock market rallied all the way back before dipping once again. This was the last day of the third quarter so I wouldn't be to concerned. October is a great month for stocks historically but also holds some of the worst stock market crashes. If anything, I think the Dow Jones will be flat to up this October. Discovery Labs DSCO and FDA Meeting Results

September 30, 2009 - Shares of Discovery Laboratories, Inc (DSCO) are spiking in pre market this morning after the company and the FDA have established a path for potential Surfaxin FDA Approval. DSCO stock is indicated to open Up 55% to $1.72 in early trading.

Discovery Labs and FDA Establish Path for Potential Surfaxin Approval

Discovery Laboratories, Inc. (Nasdaq:DSCO) held a teleconference on September 29, 2009 with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The meeting established an approach to potentially resolve the remaining primary issue that Discovery Labs must address to gain U.S. marketing approval of Surfaxin(R) (lucinactant) for the prevention of Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS) in premature infants. The meeting focused on Discovery Labs' plans regarding optimization and final method validation of its fetal rabbit Biological Activity Test (BAT, a quality control and stability release test) and a proposed limited Surfaxin clinical trial design, which would simultaneously employ the newly-optimized BAT. Looking at the chart, there is major resistance located at $2 and $2.40. If DSCO stock was to close over $2.40 at any time in the future, the next major resistance level would be $3.02. I will be buying DSCO if it breaks $2.00.

It seems as though everyone is watching Libor rates these days. Today's Libor Rates for 9/30/09 are: 1 Month Libor Rate - 0.246% & 3 Month Libor Rate - 0.287%. The overnight Libor rate is 0.211%. As you can see, Libor Rates have changed today, September 30, 2009. The overnight libor went up, the 1 month libor stayed the same, and the 3 month libor rate went down.

Astrotech Corp. (ASTC) - ASTC hit a new 52 week high on Tuesday after the company announced that they are seeking alternatives. I will be watching the $3.84 high on Wednesday. If the stock breaks above $3.84, I plan to jump in for a trade.

CIT Group, Inc. (CIT) - CIT stock exploded on Tuesday. Update: There are reports surfacing Tuesday night saying that CIT is not involved in merger talks

Discovery Laboratories Inc. (DSCO) - Keep a close eye on DSCO as the company is meeting with the FDA today. Results of this meeting could really move the stock in the coming days.

Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM) - RIMM broke up through the high of the day on Tuesday afternoon. The next major resistance levels are $69.24 & $71.42. A close above $71.42 would be huge and cause me to buy the stock.

YRC Worldwide Inc. (YRCW) - I will be jumping back into YRCW when the stock breaks back above $5.00. Monday's high of $4.96 and Tuesday's high of $4.95 will be strong resistance.

CEL-SCI Corp. (CVM) - Still watching CVM....this stock can pop big time on any positive news. I plan to get back into CVM on a break above $1.83 & $1.87. If the high of $2.10 is broken, CVM could really rocket.

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG is still trading around $46 which has been support over the past several days. I now plan to buy AIG if it can break Tuesday's high of $47.49. The trend is still up.

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup got an upgrade on Tuesday out of Rochdale. Price Target $6. Keep an eye on $4.75, a close above that would be huge and I'd expect $5 to be retested. Check out my Citigroup Technical Analysis

Bank of America Corp (BAC) - Bank of America Corporation is now trading back above the 10 day moving average at $17.29. I am looking for buy BAC when it breaks the August high of $18.24.

Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS is back in control again, a break above $87.65 would be bullish but the easy money has been made. I would be buying FAZ if FAS broke below $83.39.

SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) - Watching for a break above $0.64

DryShips, Inc. (DRYS) - Watching for a close above $7.00.

Citigroup had another strong day Tuesday after it was upgraded with a $6 price target. I am looking for a close over $4.75 and a break above minor resistance located at $4.80.
