The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9711 on 9/30/09, as the stock market went on a roller coaster ride but ended lower. The Dow Jones Futures started the day higher but as soon as we received the Chicago Purchasing report, the stock market tanked. By 1pm EST, the stock market rallied all the way back before dipping once again. This was the last day of the third quarter so I wouldn't be to concerned. October is a great month for stocks historically but also holds some of the worst stock market crashes. If anything, I think the Dow Jones will be flat to up this October.
