The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9789 on 9/28/09, as the stock market rallied on positive merger news. Xerox Corp. (XRX) agreed to pay 6.4 billion Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (ACS). The Dow Jones Futures were flat but exploded higher after this news was released. After the open, the stock market surged with the Dow Jones trading most of the day above 9800. However, today was a light volume day due to the Jewish Holiday of Yom Kippur. A lot of traders on Wall St. were out for the day.

Some major stock movers today were Cisco Systems, Inc. (CSCO) & Applied Materials Inc. (AMAT). CSCO was upgraded at Barclays with a $28 price target while AMAT was upgraded at Citigroup with a $17 price target.

Tomorrow we have two important pieces of economic data due out at 9am EST. Check out some of the events I will be watching for Tuesday. If you are a stock trader, check out my stocks to watch report for tomorrow.

Keryx Biopharmaceuticals Inc. (KERX) - KERX has been on fire lately but released news late Friday. Keryx Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. to Raise $20 Million in Registered Direct Offering. I like pullbacks the the 10 day moving average located at $2.22. Also, keep an eye on resistance at $2.90.

Helicos BioSciences Corporation (HLCS) - I have been watching HLCS over the past month. The stock struggles to hold $3 each break out. When I see a close above $3, I will start a position and add each time the following price highs are broken; $3.25, $3.47, $3.54.

E*TRADE Financial Corporation (ETFC) - Still looking for that close over $2. I will also be a buyer when ETFC closes back over the 10 day moving average. On the downside, support at $1.68 must hold.

Novavax, Inc. (NVAX) - NVAX is finally back to an attractive valuation again. Support at $3.50 must hold however. For a trade, I'd buy NVAX if it breaks up through Friday's high of $4.08.

Rentech, Inc. (RTK) - Still watching RTK, although I didn't like the way the company is dumping stock. I will wait until RTK breaks above $2 again to buy. Will add more if RTK breaks above $2.10.

Ambac Financial Group, Inc. (ABK) - Watch resistance at $2.02 & $2.09, then its up up up.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) - AAPL is back testing the 10 day moving average at $182. A close below this level would be bearish and I'd wait longer to buy this pullback.

General Electric Co. (GE) has been one of the hottest stocks on the Dow Jones recently. The stock closed below the 10 day moving average on Friday so i'd wait for the stock to close back over it before I'd buy. I'd also be a strong buyer of a pullback between $15-$15.50 which is solid support. Don't forget, Warren Buffett has the option to buy 3 billion worth of stock anytime over the next 4 years at $22.25 per share. When GE finally gets above $20 again, it could really explode. I would be keeping a tight stop loss order on any close below the 50 day which would be bearish. I would also be a buyer of BIEL.PK if the stock could close above $0.122 which is the high this year. SPNGE dropped significantly when the company announced plans to reverse split their stock. The company then dropped the ball on their 10Q which added the E on the end of SPNG. SPNGE is now testing the 200 day moving average which I expect to hold ( 0.07). I will buy SPNGE for a trade when it closes back above the 10 day moving average. Freddie Mac FRE closed below the 10 day moving average on Friday. The next major support level is $1.80. If FRE closed below $1.80, I wouldn't even touch it. The next major support level is all the way down at $1.51 and then the 50 day moving average. On the upside, if FRE can close above $2.15, I would buy the stock for a quick trade. Fannie Mae FNM is back testing the $1.50 support level which was the low last Monday. If $1.50 is broken, there is huge downside risk to $1.26-$1.40. The only way I would buy FNM is if the stock closed back over the 10 day moving average. Until then, this stock is to risky for me to hold.

FAS continues to break support levels after closing back below the 10 day moving average last week. I will be watching the $74-$75 area next week. If FAS breaks down into that zone, I may try to buy for a trade. If FAS closes below $74, I will get out. I am more willing to buy FAS around $70. During the prior two sell offs, LVS has closed back above the 10 day moving average on the 3rd day. If LVS cannot get back above the 10 day on Monday, we could be setting up for a bigger sell off. SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) continues to trade in a range between $0.60 & $0.70. As long as $0.583 holds, SIRI will remain in the current uptrend. On Monday, the 50 day moving average will be around $0.58 so if for some reason SIRI sold off even more, i'd be a buyer at that level.

HEB stock continues to hover around the $2 level. The company expects the FDA to come out with a decision on their CFS drug sometime this fall.

Resistance is located around $2.24, if I see HEB close above $2.25, I will get back into the stock. This would be a huge trend reversal because HEB hasn't closed over $2.25 since July.

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) broke down last week after it failed to hold both the 10 & 50 day moving averages on a closing basis. Besides the $1.10 low on Friday, there is no major support until $0.97-$1.00. Expect heavy selling pressure between $1.40-$1.50 if CTIC can get back to that area.
