The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9509 on 8/24/09, as the stock market traded higher in the morning but sold off in the afternoon. The Dow Jones Futures opened pre market higher due to strength in the Asian Markets. The Dow Jones was up over 80 points during the morning trading session but pulled back during the afternoon due to weakness in the financials. Stocks such as Citigroup ( C ) and Bank of America ( BAC ) made highs right after the open but then led the stock market lower late in the day. The stock market volume continues to be very low and will be low for the next few weeks. Today's late day sell off could just be the start of a move back to the 10 day moving average but I am not concerned.
