Intel INTC Stock Halted July 14, 2009 7/14/09

Intel Corporation (INTC) stock has been halted after releasing blow out earnings tonight. Expected the stock to open much much higher when it opens back up.

Intel Earnings - $0.18 EPS vs $0.08 EPS - Wow!

Intel Margins - 51%

Intel Revenue - 7.82 Billion Vs 7.3 Billion Expected

8.5 Billion in 3Q revenue guidance

Looks like Netbook sales aren't effecting margins at all.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 8359 on 7/14/09, as the stock market traded flat to up on record earnings out of Goldman Sachs Inc ( GS ). The Dow Jones Futures traded lower before the numbers but then reversed higher after the numbers from Goldman were released. The stock market averages zig zagged between positive and negative territory all day long as investors wait for earnings out of Intel Corp ( INTC ) tonight.

One of the hottest sectors today was the transportation sector, up 1.59%. Shares of CSX Corp. (CSX) were called higher after the company noted in their earnings report that they think the worst is behind us as far as the economy goes. YRC Worldwide Inc. (YRCW) stock was also significantly higher on the news.

The only stock that I own right now, Continental Resources Inc. (CLR), had another great day again today. A break above $24.73 would be very bullish going forward.

I continue to love the stock market as long as the Dow Jones can remain over the 8250 level.

Baltic Dry Index Shipping Rates 7/14/09 BDI

The BDI data is critical for how the DryBulk Shipping Stocks such as DryShips Inc ( DRYS ), Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd( EXM ), Diana Shipping Inc ( DSX ), Genco Shipping & Trading Limited ( GNK ), TBS International Limited ( TBSI ), Navios Maritime ( NM ), Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. ( EGLE ), Paragon Shipping Inc. ( PRGN ), Star Bulk Carriers Corp. ( SBLK ), and OceanFreight Inc ( OCNF ) will trade during the day. CIT Group ( CIT ) Receiving Government Aid?

July 14, 2009 - Shares of CIT Group, Inc. (CIT) are on fire tonight in afterhours as the Wall Street Journal is reporting that the Government might come in and offer some kind of aid for the company.

After trading over 200 million shares in regular trading today, CIT stock is up 21% in after hours to $1.63 on the news.

For Tuesday, 7/14/09, keep an eye on $1.88 which is the 10 day moving average.

General Motors Trading Halt Update 7/14/09

July 14, 2009 - On Friday, General Motors Corporation (GMGMQ.PK) stock was halted just after 2pm EST by FINRA. Investors and Traders seemed to be buying GMGMQ stock when they saw GM emerge from bankruptcy to form a new company.

GMGMQ trades as the old bankrupt company called " Motors Liquidation Company." The new General Motors will not IPO until atleast mid 2010 and shareholders of GMGMQ will not get any shares of that IPO.

FINRA suspended trading Friday and it is unclear whether the halt will be lifted or if the shares will be cancelled all together.

General Motors has had this statement on their website fort several weeks and also released a PR telling people to stop buying their stock because it will soon be worthless.

Stock Market Futures

The Dow Jones had a huge reversal today as an analyst upgraded Goldman Sachs ahead of earnings tomorrow. The Dow Jones reclaimed the 8250 level and is now pushing toward the next resistance level of around 8400. The head and shoulders formation was broken last week so I expect the Dow to either fail 8400 or 8600 which would be the shoulders. If 8600 is closed above, there would be a massive short covering rally and i'd expect the 8878 high to be tested and most likely broken. So in short, I am watching 8400, then 8600 on the upside. Stocks to Watch - 7/14/09 - Stock Market Ideas

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG has been the hottest stock over the last two days. After free falling from $17.50 down to $8, AIG reversed and is now trading near the $15 resistance level. IF AIG can close above $15, you could see a quick surge back to $17 per share but this is the area where i'd be selling. Pre reverse stock split, AIG was trading at $23.20. If the stock market rolls over again, shares of AIG will get hit hard.

U.S. Oil Fund (NYSE: USO) - The USO made a strong reversal off the low on Monday. If Oil prices close back over $60, Oil could stage a rally back to $65 resistance. This would take the USO back to around $35 per share.

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS stock should be hot going into earnings season as the banks still get to borrow at zero. Meredith Whitney upgraded Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS) which is the 3rd largest holding in the index. This upgrade should provide a floor for the FAS stock price of $35. FAS does have resistance at $45 which would be that $9 level pre reverse split. I would be buying FAZ shares if FAS gets back to around $50.

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup stock had a nice bounce Monday after the banking sector spiked on the Meredith Whitney Goldman upgrade. Keep an eye on $2.71, I close above this level would be very bullish for the short term. Earnings will be released on Friday.

Bank of America Corp ( BAC ) - Bank of America Corporation surged by 6% Monday as analyst Meredith Whitney said Bank of America is the cheapest bank stock on a tangible book value basis. Whitney says the stock could see a 15% rise in share price and it looks like we have about 9% left to go.

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - CTIC stock was struggling to get back above the $1.37 Monday. Keep an eye on $1.30 and $1.22 which are short term support levels. The volume on CTIC has died down significantly which is bearish but one positive news release will get it moving to the upside once again. As long as CTIC holds $1.22, I like the stock.

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) - HEB stock is back testing its 50 day moving average at $1.97. Since the HEB break out first started back in May, HEB has always closed over the 50 day moving average. If this trend would change, look out below! Investors and traders continue to wait for the FDA decision on their CFS drug, Ampligen.

Genta Incorporated (GNTA.OB) did a reverse split and changed their symbol to GENTA INC (GETA.OB). The stock is getting hammered today.

General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) - General Electric (GE) stock was popping Monday, up 6%. Keep an eye on resistance at $12.68 which is the 50 day moving average. GE stock may end up closing over the 10 day moving average Monday ( $11.30 ) which would be very bullish and off a nice support level.

Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan (NYSE: POT) - Potash is now a screaming buy under $83 per share. Three analyst downgrades could not keep POT shares down Monday. I would love another buying opportunity at $81-$82 but i'm afraid I may not get one. The fact that Potash went up on horrible news is very bullish! Time to buy buy buy!
