The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9544 on 8/28/09, as the stock market dropped despite better then expected guidance out of Dell Inc. (DELL) & Intel Corporation (INTC). The Dow Jones Futures pointed lower to start the day but things got worse right after the open. Keep in mind, the volume has been very light recently so moves either way have to be taken with a grain of salt. The volume will start to come back after labor day and toward the end of September. I will become cautious if the Dow Jones closes below 9400 at any time going forward. Check out some of the events I will be watching for Monday.

The BDI data is critical for how the DryBulk Shipping Stocks such as DryShips Inc ( DRYS ), Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd( EXM ), Diana Shipping Inc ( DSX ), Genco Shipping & Trading Limited ( GNK ), TBS International Limited ( TBSI ), Navios Maritime ( NM ), Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. ( EGLE ), Paragon Shipping Inc. ( PRGN ), Star Bulk Carriers Corp. ( SBLK ), and OceanFreight Inc ( OCNF ) will trade during the day. As you probably know, the Dry Bulk Shipping index can tell you a lot about the state of the World Economy. When Bulk Shipping Rates are at all time highs, the World Economy is outstanding. As you can see, Libor Rates have changed today, August 28, 2009. The 1 & 3 month libor rates dropped while the overnight libor rates went up.

Drys closed above both the 10 & 50 day moving averages today which hasn't been in a month. I bought DRYS today because of this and the fact that the move was on heavy volume. The next resistance level I am watching is $6.50 as well as the 200 day moving average located at $6.99. A close above the 200 day moving average will cause me to add to my long position. When stocks close above their 200 day moving average, it is usually a long term buy signal. If Drys closes below $6 at anytime I will be getting out. $6 to me should be solid support.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) continues the powerful uptrend that started back in March 2009. I am watching for a close over resistance of $171 to start a new breakout and retest the major resistance area between $180-$190. This is where i'd be looking to sell. Stocks to Watch - 8/28/09 - Stock Market Ideas

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG hit resistance of $50 Thursday and began to fall after a guest came on CNBC and said the stock could go to $100 and beyond. Jim Cramer then said based on the reverse split, AIG stock hasn't really even moved yet. Support is located at $46 & 44.50. A close above $50 at anytime would spark another surge. AIG will be the most active stock to daytrade over the next few days.

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup finally broke $5 Thursday and ran to $5.10. A close over $5 would be huge. Check out my Citigroup Technical Analysis

DryShips, Inc. (DRYS) - Huge afternoon surge in shares of Dryships, Inc. on heavy volume. The stock is now trading back over the 10 & 50 day moving averages. Resistance is located at $7 & $7.10, and then the stock should really break out. I bought this stock Thursday but will probably sell if it closes back below $6.

Ambac Financial Group, Inc. (ABK) - This is another stock that could catch fire with all the financial related stocks surging. I am watching the two previous highs of $1.64 and $2.09.
Fannie Mae (FNM) - Resistance $1.93, $2, $2.13

Freddie Mac (FRE) - Resistance - $2.19, $2.35

SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) - SIRI hit support at the 10 day moving average and bounced nicely. I continue to like pullbacks to $0.65 with a stop at $0.59. A close over $0.75 would be very bullish.

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - Despite the large sell off early Thursday in the stock market, FAS continues to hold Friday's low of $74.29. If FAS breaks below $74.29 at anytime would get me to buy FAZ. This is the trade I am looking for the most.

Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) - Resistance = $14.93 & $16.81, LVS is holding strong in the $14's.

Bank of America Corp ( BAC ) - Bank of America Corporation continues to hit resistance right below $18. I will be taking a long position on a close over $17.93 with a tight stop at $17.58. With Citi and AIG running wild, BAC can easily get back into the $20's.

Immunomedics (IMMU) - Positive Lupus drug data sparked a spike in shares of IMMU stock Thursday. This is another stock to put on your watchlist for the next few weeks. A break above $7 from this point on would be bullish.

Vonage Holdings Corp. (VG) - Looking to buy VG if it breaks back up above $2.25 for a quick trade.
