The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9345 on 9/3/09, as the stock market went up on a better then expected initial claims report. The Dow Jones Futures were higher in pre market and hung onto all of the gains throughout the trading session. All eyes will be on the August 2009 jobs report due out at 8:30am EST tomorrow morning. Wall Street is expecting a loss of between 225,000-250,000 jobs for August. A loss of 300,000+ would be bearish for the stock market. Expect the trading volume to shrink as the day goes on due to the fact that we will be going into a three day weekend. Check out some of the events I will be watching for Friday. Citigroup Stock Chart - The following is a little Citigroup Inc. ( C ) stock technical analysis for September 3, 2009

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) Support & Resistance Levels - 9/3/09

Resistance Levels: $4.82, $5.02, $5.11, $5.43

Support Levels: $4.65, $4.48, $4.30

Citigroup hit a high of $5.43 and then pulled back to $4.30 just four trading days later. The important thing to note is that Citigroup continues to close over the $4.48-$4.50 support level. Citi is now running back up for a retest of the 10 day moving average ( currently located at $4.81 ). A close back over the 10 day moving average would be bullish and I think the stock could retest $5 again. As long as Citigroup remains below the 10 day moving average, it is very vulnerable.

I will continue to buy pullbacks to the $4.50 area and will add more if Citigroup closes over the 10 day moving average. For more Technical Analysis - Go Here

Fannie Mae (FNM) is trading back under the 10 day moving average....I would be a buyer if FNM closes back above the 10 day or retests the 50 day moving average. Until then, the 10 day moving average is going to be a strong resistance level and risk to the downside is large. FNM is still in an uptrend unless it closes below the $1.32 high from early August. Stocks to Watch - 9/3/09 - Stock Market Ideas

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG had a capitulation sell off in the morning on Wednesday as it gapped below support at $35. The stock then surged above $38 resistance and failed at $40. For a trade, I will be a strong buyer of pullbacks in the $35-$36 zone. A break above $40 would also be bullish and i'd expect to get $42-$44 out of it. This stock is all over the place so take profits or cut losses quick.

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup somehow opened in the $4.30's this morning....I am back into the stock on the long side and will be buying pullbacks to $4.48-$4.50. Also once the stock closes back over the 10 day moving average I will buy more. There is also support way down in the $4.20's as well.

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS reversed nicely off the morning lows Wednesday but failed around $68.50. I will be a buyer of FAS if it breaks above $70 but FAZ is still in charge. If you see FAS break through the Wed low of $65.39, you could see another nice move higher in FAZ. At this point, those are the price points I am watching.

Blockbuster Inc. (BBI) - Blockbuster cuts size of Viacom letter of credit - BBI was the hottest stock on Wednesday. Resistance at $1.26 and then it should see a nice pop. After $1.26, there is major resistance at $1.76

Gold Stocks - Gold had a technical breakout on Wednesday after the huge down move in the stock market on Tuesday. It might not be a bad idea to look into some gold stocks. If Gold breaks back above 1000 you can see a big move in the following stocks.

Bank of America Corp ( BAC ) - Bank of America Corporation hit $16.02 Wednesday and then reversed higher. $16 now becomes support and the 10 day moving average becomes resistance ( $17.40 ). If we get a bigger sell off this month, I am looking at buying a retest of the 50 day moving average located at $14.65. This would be a strong buy.

Freddie Mac (FRE) - Support is located at $1.51 - Resistance - $1.80
Fannie Mae (FNM) - Support is located at $1.26 - Resistance - $1.50

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) - I continue to watch HEB as the company has an FDA decision on their CFS drug Ampligen due out sometime this fall. Resistance is back at $2.07. Pullbacks under $2 have been a great buy.

Cell Therapeutics, Inc ( CTIC ) - FDA Fast Track decision on 9/4/09. With a nervous stock market, stocks such as CTIC have a hard time. Resistance - $1.52

First Solar, Inc. (FSLR) - Waiting for FSLR to close over the 10 day moving average ( currently $123.58 but falling rapidly ) and then I will buy half of a long term position.

Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM) - Watching for a close over $74 which would be bullish. I will definitely get long RIMM when it closes over the previous high of $78

Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (SPPI) - FDA Decision for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma on September 7, 2009

Novavax, Inc. (NVAX) - Caution is urged with NVAX....shark fin formation on the 5 day chart...bearish. Maybe a good time to short if it breaks below $5.60. Keep an eye on Wednesday's high of day at $6.25....a break above $6.25 could make you some decent money.

SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) - Looking to buy a break above $0.64
