The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 8164 on 7/7/09, as the stock market fell on fears that the recovery will not happen and the fact that a 2nd stimulus package is in the making. The Dow Jones Futures started the day higher but toward the end of pre market turned into the red. After the open, it was all downhill from there. The Dow Jones broke 8200 for the first time since May 2009 and has officially formed a head and shoulders pattern on the chart, a set up that is bearish for the short term. Support now turns to 8000 which must hold or the panic selling will start to come back. Many traders are also watching 875 on the S&P 500 average. A close below 875 could spark a sell off to the 810-825 area. I have now turned bearish for now until I see signs that this sell off is over or when we close back over 8250. When I turn bearish I am usually cautious on trading from the long side and will look to go short the stock market. Be careful out there! Baltic Dry Index Shipping Rates 7/7/09 BDI

The BDI data is critical for how the DryBulk Shipping Stocks such as DryShips Inc ( DRYS ), Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd( EXM ), Diana Shipping Inc ( DSX ), Genco Shipping & Trading Limited ( GNK ), TBS International Limited ( TBSI ), Navios Maritime ( NM ), Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. ( EGLE ), Paragon Shipping Inc. ( PRGN ), Star Bulk Carriers Corp. ( SBLK ), and OceanFreight Inc ( OCNF ) will trade during the day. As you probably know, the Dry Bulk Shipping index can tell you a lot about the state of the World Economy. When Bulk Shipping Rates are at all time highs, the World Economy is outstanding. As you can see, Libor Rates have changed today, July 7, 2009. The Overnight and 3 month libor rates went down while the 1 month libor rates stayed the same.

Bank of America Corporation Stock Chart - The following is Bank of America Corp. (NYSE:BAC) technical analysis for July 7, 2009

Bank of America Support & Resistance Levels - 7/7/09

Resistance Levels: $13.13, $13.93, $15.06

Support Levels: $12, $11.68, $10.50, $10

Bank of America is giving the 50 day moving average it's first major test since the end of March 2009. If BAC stock closes below this level, look for the strong support level of the $10.50's to be tested. On the upside, I continue to monitor the 200 day moving average on a daily basis. Currently located at $13.13, BAC has not closed above the 200 day moving average since September 2007. When B of A does close above the 200 day moving average, the should get a nice spike higher as this be a long term buy signal. For More Technical Analysis - Go Here

The Dow Jones tested 8200 and bounced off this level on Monday to close in the green. The Dow also closed above the key closing support level of 8250 as you can see by the line above. Look for rallies back to 8500 to be sold as we head into earnings season starting tomorrow with key Dow component Alcoa ( AA ). A head and shoulders pattern has formed so a break below 8200 would be very bearish. The next support i'd be looking toward is 8000. For More Technical Analysis - Go Here

Stocks to Watch - 7/7/09 - Stock Market Ideas

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS stock tested the $8 level Monday and appears to be holding on a closing basis with 2 hours to go. I bought FAS stock today at $8.07 and plan on holding for a bounce. I only bought back half of my position so I would be willing to average down near the $7 area which is the next major support level. As for FAZ, if FAS trades near $10 or over, I'd be willing to jump on the FAZ train for a trade. The recent trading range for FAS has been between $8-$9.50. Check out FAZ - FAS Technical Analysis

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup stock has continued the weakness I have been pointing out for over 3 weeks now. $2.61 is a major support level that must hold on a closing basis from here on out. Shares of C have basically falled straight down from $3.50. Keep an eye out for earnings which will be released on July 17, 2009.

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG stock is now trading at $15.75 which is below the pre market low on Thursday. Because of this break down, I would only be looking to buy AIG for a bounce at around $15. All major rallies should now be sold.

Bank of America Corp ( BAC ) - Bank of America Corporation stock hit a low of $11.95, right around the recent $12 support level. I am watching the 50 day moving average which is currently at $11.68. A close below the 50 day at any point would be very bearish and BAC would probably retest the $10.50 support level. It may seem like only 10% but if there aren't enough buyers and BAC breaks down through $10, bigger problems will surface. For now, just keep an eye on the 50 day moving average, it rises everyday. On the upside, Bank of America can't seem to close above the 200 day moving average. When BAC finally closes above this area, I believe you could see a run toward $14-$15 at the very least.

General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) - General Electric (GE) stock has been selling off lately. Keep an eye on the prior low of $11.25. If $11.25 is broken, I look to pick up some GE stock around $10. Earnings will be out in two weeks.

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - CTIC broke $1.50 Monday and then selling took it down to $1.44. The volume has been low so the stock is hard to read at this point. One thing for sure is that CTIC stock needs to hold $1.37.

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) - Investors and traders continue to wait for the FDA decision on their CFS drug, Ampligen. The long delay is starting to get old! Management remains silent.
