The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 8473 on 5/26/09, as the stock market exploded higher on a better then expected consumer confidence number. In my opinion, this figure was up so much due to the recent rise in the stock market. Nevertheless, stocks surged on this news. The Dow Jones Futures started the day lower as the North Korea Missle news circulated but after the consumer confidence data was released, the stock market ripped higher and never looked back. The volume continues to be very light but the move still gets my attention.

Commodities also rallied back with the market today. Oil was below $60 in pre market and then snapped back over $62. Natural Gas held the lows for the year and Gold Prices rallied back from the morning lows. Check out some of the events I will be watching for Wednesday.

Joe Terranova CNBC Fast Money - Commodities

Joe Terranova came on CNBC's Fast Money Halftime Report today ( 5/26/09 ) and told viewers that he is bullish on the stock market. There is " tremendous resilience " in both the stock market and commodities. " The S&P 500 is back over 900 and stocks are going up on bad news again. "

If you look at Apple Inc. (AAPL), Google Inc. (GOOG), Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM), and International Business Machines Corp. (IBM), with the S&P 500 above 900....you can get long these companies.

You want to be in stocks like technology and commodities with the market continuing to move higher

Nobody believes this rally but is a stock market that continues to go higher.

Commodities, Gold, Agriculture, Oil are all great sectors to be in right now.

HEMISPHERX BIOPHARMA ANNOUNCES POSSIBLE BRIEF DELAY IN FDA ACTION ON AMPLIGEN® NEW DRUG APPLICATION

Philadelphia, PA, Tuesday, May 26, 2009: Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (NYSE/AMEX -HEB) today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug administration (“FDA”) has advised the company that it may require up to 1-2 additional weeks to take action beyond the scheduled Prescription Drug User Fee Act action date of May 25, 2009 on the New Drug Application for Ampligen® (Poly I Poly C12U), a selective TLR3 modulator, for the management of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Reason for the possible delay was attributed by the Agency to certain staff scheduling changes which might (or might not) delay the report. Accordingly the Company’s development plan for Ampligen® continues as described in the recently filed 10Q and 10K, as the FDA did not request additional information from the Company at this time.

FAS continues to trade around the 10 day moving average. For a trade, I am watching for a break above Thursday's high of $9.31 to get long FAS. I am also watching the low from Thursday at $8.60 to jump into FAZ for a trade. The 50 day moving average is slowly creeping higher ( $7.88 ) which is another area to watch going forward. Resistance Levels: $3.70, $4 , $4.41, $4.48

Support Levels: $3.50, $3.36, $3.00

Citigroup stock continues to trade close to the 10 day moving average around $3.65. Last week, Citi tried to make a move over $4.00 but was rejected at $3.96. I will be buying Citigroup stock when it breaks $4.00 and if Citi closes over $4.00, I will continue to hold for a retest of the major resistance area between $4.41-$4.48. A close over $4.48 and I think Citi will trade back up to the $5-$6 range. On the downside...I am watching the 50 day moving average closely, if Citigroup closes below this level I think a retest of $3 and below would be likely. For more Technical Analysis - Go Here

Stock Market Futures

The Dow Jones continues to trade under the 10 day moving average and test the key support level of 8250. A close under 8250 would spark additional selling and could possibly take the Dow down to retest the 50 day moving average and 8000. On the upside, a break above 8600 would spark a rally toward the 200 day moving average at 8844. I personally think we will retest 8000 in the coming weeks and months....stay tuned! Stocks to Watch - 5/26/09 - Stock Market Ideas

Financials: The financials were mixed on Friday going into the holiday weekend. Below is a list of bank stocks I will be watching for Tuesday ( stocks are closed May 25, 2009 ).

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Direxion Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS made a high of $9.29 Friday and had a high of $9.31 on Thursday. For a short term trade, I will be buying FAS stock when it breaks up through $9.31 and I would imagine most people would be stopping out of FAZ around this level as well. On the downside, FAS held $8.60 twice on Thursday so this is your support level.

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup continues to trade sideways and make higher lows. Watch out from a break above $3.75 which could spark a rally back to the $3.96-$4.00 resistance zone. There is minor resistance around $3.87-$3.88. On the downside $3.60 has been solid over the past week and should continue to hold. Bank of America Corp. (NYSE:BAC) - BAC stock was weak all day on Friday, trading below $11 for most of the afternoon. I think this down move has to do with technical. BAC failed to hold $12 pretty much all week and traders are bailing out of the stock. As long as BAC holds $10, I like the stock. A close above $12 would be very bullish going forward.

Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE:WFC) - WFC stock continues to bounce off $24. Look for this to continue but downside to be around $22 at which Guy Adami of CNBC's Fast Money says to buy WFC stock.

Regional Banks: I continues to watch the regional banks for trading opportunities. Keep an eye on the following stocks on Tuesday: Regions Financial Corp. (RF), Huntington Bancshares Inc. (HBAN), Fifth Third Bancorp (FITB), Zions Bancorp. (ZION)

Converted Organics Inc (COIN) - COIN had a nice day on Friday, breaking back up through $1.60. The momentum traders will come back when COIN breaks back up through the $1.90 resistance level and also when the stock trades back above $2.

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) - Waiting an FDA decision that should be made public next week. Join the HEB message board discussion.

Origin Agritech ( SEED ) - Origin Agritech Limited (NASDAQ: SEED) just broke above $5 on Friday afternoon, this could be a big momentum stock next week as the Ag stocks are hot. Discuss SEED.
