Stocks to Watch - 8/5/10 - Stock Market Investing Ideas

XOMA Ltd. (XOMA) - Shares of XOMA Ltd. soared on Wednesday and was one of the hottest stocks of the day. XOMA 052 Designated Orphan Drug by FDA for Treatment of Behcet's Disease. Xoma will have resistance located at $0.41 & $0.52.

Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (GS) - Shares of Goldman Sachs Group were higher on Wednesday after news broke that the company is getting ready to make a deal on their prop trading desk. Goldman Sachs could easily hit $160 off of this news in the next few days. Now you know why I liked Goldman Sachs so much in the $130's over the past 2 months.

Dendreon Corp. (DNDN) - Shares of Dendreon Corp. were on fire Wednesday after the company reported some provenge sales. Dendreon Corp will have resistance located at $40 & $40.62 but then nothing until around $45. Keep an eye on Dendreon over the next few weeks.

Bank of America Corp. (BAC) - Shares of Bank of America Corp. are now back above $14.00. Bank of America Corp. has resistance located at $14.65 as well as $14.92 which is the 50 day moving average. Pullbacks below $13.50 are a buy.

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS failed at $24 again on Wednesday and is starting to look tired. A five point move in the last month has traders beginning to take profits. While I still wouldn't buy FAZ right now, I'd be looking to FAS below $20 if we saw a correction.

Baidu, Inc. (BIDU) - Shares of Baidu, Inc. continue to soar on better than expected earnings results two weeks ago. Baidu has resistance located at $90 and I'd begin taking profits at that level.

Stocks to Watch for Daytrading - YRC Worldwide Inc. (YRCW) - Ambac Financial Group, Inc. (ABK) - Pacific Ethanol, Inc. (PEIX) - OceanFreight, Inc. (OCNF) - Samson Oil & Gas Limited (SSN) - Bank of Ireland (IRE) - DryShips, Inc. (DRYS) - Allied Irish Banks plc (AIB) - Somaxon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (SOMX)

YRC Worldwide Inc. (YRCW) - Shares of YRC Worldwide Inc. bounced slightly on Wednesday but have really dropped from the $0.46 in pre market on Tuesday. I'd be avoiding YRC Worldwide unless the stock can trade back above $0.40.

Ambac Financial Group, Inc. (ABK) - Shares of Ambac Financial Group, Inc. are now back below the 10 & 50 day moving averages. I would not touch Ambac stock until it breaks back above $0.87. Earnings should be coming out any day now.

Sirius XM Radio (SIRI) - Shares of Sirius XM Radio are now starting to form a base above $1.00. The next major resistance level for Sirius XM Radio is located at $1.10. Pullbacks to $0.90 are a buy. SIRI reported better than expected earnings on Wednesday.

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - Shares of American Intl Group, Inc. are back above $40 again and are still high on my watchlist. AIG acted well above $40 on Monday and the stock could be ready to make another leg higher. Pullbacks below $38 are a buy.

Cisco Systems, Inc. (CSCO) - Shares of Cisco Systems, Inc. are rising back to the 200 day moving average located at $24.27. If Cisco Systems can close above this level and stay above it, I think the next move will be to $25-$26.

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) - Shares of Advanced Micro Devices are back above $7.50 but barely. The stock is in a major downtrend as well. I'd be a buyer of Advanced Micro Devices if the stock would fall to $6.50.

Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM) - Shares of Research in Motion Ltd continue to drop as negative middle east news is effecting the stock. United Arab Emirates wants to ban all blackberry devices. I'd be a buyer of Research in Motion below $50 for the long term.

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - Shares of Cell Therapeutics, Inc. continue the bearish downtrend. Right now, I'd be avoiding Cell Therapeutics until it breaks above $0.55. CTIC will have resistance located at $0.55 and $0.70.

First Solar, Inc. (FSLR) - First Solar, Inc. had bullish options activity on Wednesday and could signal someone out there is looking at the company for a takeover.
