The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9868 on 10/26/09, as the stock market fell because of a strong US Dollar. For months now, the stock market, gold, oil, and most commodities have been rising every time the US Dollar fell. Today, the US Dollar spiked which caused profit taking in the above assets.

The Dow Jones Futures were higher in pre market but after the stock market opened today, the Dow Jones was up 100 at one point. The US Dollar then began to rise off the morning lows and the market began to tank. If you are bullish and think the Dollar will rally, check out PowerShares DB US Dollar Index Bullish (UUP).

We also saw weakness in Bank of America ( BAC ) stock. Worries of executive pay and dilution hit B of A which took down most of the financials today. Shares of Citi ( C ) were also down 4%.

Dow 10,000 has been strong resistance over the past few weeks. Each time we break up through this level, the sellers show up. The 10 day moving average is now at 9999 as well. The next major support level for the Dow Jones is located at 9672 which is the 50 day moving average. I'd be a buyer around that area.
