The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9683 on 9/15/09, as the stock market surged on better then expected PPI & Retail Sales data. The Dow Jones Futures started the morning lower but quickly reversed right after 8:30am EST. During the afternoon hours, the stock market hit new 2009 highs as General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) broke up through $16 per share. On the other hand, shares of Citigroup Inc. ( C ) were hammered after a report that they are looking to reduce the government's stake in the company with hopes that the U.S. will sell the shares in a public offering. The plan is reportedly being reviewed by the government. I am waiting until Citigroup breaks up through the high of the day to start a new long position.
