The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9281 on 8/5/09, as the stock market started the day lower and became stronger throughout the day. This is a trend we have been seeing for the past two months. The Dow Jones Futures started the day lower and when the stock market opened, we went down big. The typical 11am EST rebound arrived and we were all uphill from there. I continue to watch the 10 day moving average on the Dow Jones as a sign of weakness. A close below the 10 day moving average ( currently at 9168 but goes up every day ) would be a sign of a trend change and I'd become cautious. The Dow got close to it today but heavy buying came in around the 9200 level.

The next major stock market moving events will be initial claims tomorrow as well as the employment report Friday. Check out some of the events I will be watching for Thursday.
