Stocks to Buy July 30, 2009 7/30/09

Inovio Biomedical Corporation (INO) - INO was the hottest stock on Wednesday after the company released positive H1N1 vaccine data. The stock spiked right at the open, hit a high of $2.54, and then broke under $2 several times. INO then turned around just before 11am and has been going up ever since. I am watching major resistance between $3.22-$3.25 which goes back around 2 years ago. A close over $3.25 would be very bullish!

Novavax, Inc. (NVAX) - NVAX continues to rocket higher with the swine flu stocks and is now breaking out technically over $5. There is major resistance around the $5.50 level but then nothing major until $7. It would take some powerful news for NVAX to reach $7 in the short term but you have to wonder, with their technology, are they a take out target?

Human Genome Sciences Inc. (HGSI) - HGSI hit a new 52 week high Wednesday. Pullbacks into the $13's have turned out to be great buying opportunities.

Conseco Inc. (CNO) - Conseco shares were up huge Wednesday after the company sees a profit for the quarter.

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - I didn't like how CTIC gapped up in pre market so I didn't buy the $1.50 open. I am kind of hoping for CTIC to break up through $1.50 on it's own during the regular trading day without any help from these PR's. When this happens, I will jump into CTIC for a trade. Until then, $1.37 needs to continue to hold. A close back over $1.50 and I am in for sure!

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) - I continue to watch HEB as investors are waiting for an FDA decision on Ampligen. The reason I continue to list HEB day after day is because if the FDA does approve Ampligen, you could see an HGSI like move in the stock. If you are trading HEB, support is located at $2.29 and $2.20.

Recent Stock Gainers: I am watching the following stocks because they could easily spike higher at any moment based on their recent trading activity. Sequenom Inc. (SQNM) - Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (JAZZ) - Antigenics Inc. (AGEN) - Discovery Laboratories Inc. (DSCO) - deCODE genetics Inc. (DCGN) - ACADIA Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (ACAD) - KKR Financial Holdings LLC (KFN) - Ariad Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ARIA)

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - Nothing has changed today - I continue to watch for trading opportunities in FAS and FAZ. I would be buying FAZ if FAS trades up around $55 for a quick trade. I am not willing to chase FAS up this high until we see a big pullback. When FAS closes back under $50, FAZ will attract a lot of technical buyers.

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup has traded over $3 for 95% of the trading day Wednesday. I would be selling on a break below $3.01 to lock in gains. Meanwhile, a close above these two resistance levels would be very bullish: $3.11 & $3.17. Check out my recent technical analysis

Bank of America Corp ( BAC ) - Bank of America Corporation continues to show strength after breaking up through $12.40 and $12.48 last week. Keep an eye on resistance at $14. A break up through $14 would be bullish after a long sideways trading range.

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG continues to hold $13 which is now support and $13.80-$14 is now resistance. A break up through $14 should bring some nice buying back into the stock.
