Stocks to Buy July 28, 2009 7/28/09

DryShips, Inc. (DRYS) - Looks like DRYS will close over the 50 day moving average Monday. This is a technical break out and I expect the 200 day moving average to be tested in the coming weeks. I will be buying all major pullbacks. Check out my Technical Analysis

ACADIA Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (ACAD) - The biggest gainer today is ACAD, shares are higher ahead of a key drug trial which could be coming out any day now. I will not get involved until the data is released because it is risky but if you are trading the stock, watch $5 resistance. If the trial results come out better then expected, the next resistance is located all the way up at $8.50.

Ariad Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ARIA) - ARIA is popping on the following news - Ariad Pharma says cancer drug shows promise. This is a stock that could be very active all week because earnings will also be released on Thursday. Resistance is located at $2.70 & $2.95 but then its off to the races.

Cerus Corporation (CERS) - CERS has been up ever since the Medarex, Inc. (MEDX) buyout. Investors seem to be betting that there could be shoppers looking at Cerus.

Novavax, Inc. (NVAX) - Europe is fast tracking swine flu vaccines. NVAX has a vaccine trial that uses insect cells which could offer a faster solution then chicken egg cells. NVAX is breaking out of a huge trading ranged between $2.25 - $3.50. Keep an eye on $4.38, if NVAX closes above $4.38, you could be looking at $5-$7 in the next few months.

Sequenom Inc. (SQNM) - SQNM stock has also been breaking for the past few days after the $5.34 resistance level was closed over last week. SQNM could be headed back to retest the 200 day moving average in the next several months.

China Precision Steel, Inc. (CPSL) - The China stock markets have been hot recently. Keep an eye on $3.50, a close over this level would be huge!

BioCryst Pharmaceuticals Inc. (BCRX) - Another swine flu stock riping higher today

Capstone Turbine Corp. (CPST) - Capstone Turbine Adds Distributor for Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri. CPST has resistance at $1.34 & $1.67.

Geron Corporation (GERN) - GERN just broke above $8.50 today - resistance is located at $10

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - I continue to watch for trading opportunities in FAS and FAZ. I would be buying FAZ if FAS trades up around $55 for a quick trade. I am not willing to chase FAS up this high until we see a big pullback. When FAS closes back under $50, FAZ will attract a lot of technical buyers.

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup broke $2.60 intraday Monday but bounced back over this level going into the final two hours. Support is located at $2.55....a close below that level would be very bearish. The trend is still down, don't fight the trend until it changes. UPDATE: 7/28/09 - Trend Change, bought Citigroup $2.78 around 10am on 7/28/09

Bank of America Corp ( BAC ) - Bank of America Corporation was breaking up over $13 Monday...very bullish. Pullbacks into the $12's should now be a strong buy. Keep an eye on resistance at $14.

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - The fact that AIG stock broke back above $13 Monday is very bullish. $12 ended up holding Friday so I think if enough volume comes in, AIG could see $13.65-$14 this week.

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) - Still waiting for an FDA decision on Ampligen. HEB continues to hold the 50 day moving average in a closing basis.

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - CTIC is basing again after the big downturn last week. I will buy as soon as CTIC breaks back up through $1.50.
