Stocks to Buy July 27, 2009 7/27/09

Friday, during regular trading hours, there were many stocks that continued to break out to the upside. Below is a list of stocks that are worth watching for July 27, 2009. Also, check out the Biggest Stock Gainers of the Day.

Discovery Laboratories Inc. (DSCO) - Discovery Labs Schedules Conference Call and Webcast next week. Any positive news would send DSCO back over $1.00 but this could be a case of buy the rumor, sell the news.

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) - HEB stock continues to bounce off the 50 day moving average ( now $2.24 ) each and every time. A close below the 50 day moving average would be bearish and I would be a seller. Investors are still waiting for an FDA decision on Ampligen.

BioCryst Pharmaceuticals Inc. (BCRX) - The swine flu stocks were up huge this past week. Keep an eye on them for further trading opportunities if you see a dip. Vical Inc. (VICL) - Novavax, Inc. (NVAX) - Sinovac Biotech Ltd. (SVA) - Generex Biotechnology Corp. (GNBT). Companies reaping the swine flu windfall.

Solar Stocks - The solar stocks have been up huge this past week after a China Subsidy and earnings out of SunPower Corporation (SPWRA). This sector has been crushed over the past year so if oil prices can move a bit higher, there is a lot of upside for the group. I am watching the following solar stocks the most: First Solar, Inc. (FSLR) - LDK Solar Co.Ltd. (LDK) - JA Solar Holdings Co., Ltd. (JASO) - GT Solar International, Inc. (SOLR) - China Sunergy Co. Ltd. (CSUN) - Canadian Solar Inc. (CSIQ) - Evergreen Solar Inc. (ESLR)

Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) - MGM Mirage (MGM) - I continue to watch these two casino stocks. LVS is now " breaking out " to the upside as the 10 day moving average is above both the 50 and 200 day averages. For LVS, keep an eye on $11.84 which was the May 2009 high. A close over that area would be huge!

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - Waiting for CTIC to close back over $1.50 and then I will get involved again.

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS continues to be very strong, it briefly traded under $50 Friday which turned out to be a great buying opportunity. I will be buying FAZ when FAS closes under $50 or hits $55. These are two stocks I trade only, hardly ever hold them for a long period of time.

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup continues to hold in the $2.60's. I am waiting to buy C when it breaks back up through $3 and I will add to my position when Citigroup breaks $3.20. Until then, the risk is rather large to the downside.

Bank of America Corp ( BAC ) - Bank of America Corporation is in a tight trading range right now...pullbacks to the 200 day moving average ( $11.72 ) should be bought while rallies up the the 10 day moving average ( $12.73 ) should be sold until we see a break out back over $13.

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG broke down today and tested $12. If AIG stock breaks down into the $11's at any point, things could get ugly. The high on Friday was $13, I will be buying AIG for a trade when it breaks back up through $13 again.
