The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 8504 on 7/1/09, as the stock market went up on worse then expected economic data. Pending Home Sales and the ADP Employment were worse then expected but Wall Street seemed to shrug it off and move higher. The Dow Jones Futures started the day higher and things got even better after the open. The volume continues to be very low so you have to take these moves with a grain of salt. The volume should start coming back in August and definitely September. One big story today was the AIG Story. A reverse stock split caused shares to fall over 20%. Thursday is the last trading day of the week as the stock market is closed Friday. We will receive the jobs number and unemployment rate at 8:30am EST.
