The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 8447 on 6/30/09, as the stock market ended the 2nd quarter on a down note. The Dow Jones Futures began the day flat but things got worse after the consumer confidence number fell drastically. The Dow Jones tested support at 8400 which held several times. As we start July 2009, investors will now be looking to upcoming earnings report's for guidance.
Two key pieces of stock news were out of the following companies today. VICL - GERN
Art Cashin also gave comments on CNBC this morning calling the market " tired."
Oil failed above $72 again Tuesday which is the third time in the past 6 trading days. This is the time of the year where Oil tends to hit it's peak and gradually drift lower. If you remember last summer, Oil hit $140's and then started to trend lower before crashing due to the economic crisis.
