The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 7396 on 3/17/09, as the stock market gained back the losses from yesterdays final hour. The Dow Jones Futures were slightly higher this morning due to better then expected housing data. At 3pm, the sell off did not come and this forced shorts to cover going into the close. However, the volume wasn't outstanding but it was still decent.

Oil Prices tested $50 today but failed late in the trading session. This will be no easy hurdle to get through and sustain due to the oil build up in the USA plus all the oil sitting in tanker ships in other countries.
