Apple Inc Support & Resistance Levels - 10/30/10

Resistance Levels: $319, $325

Apple Inc. (AAPL) stock closed at $300.98 on Friday. In some of my recent posts, I pointed out that Apple Inc. closed below the 10 day moving average and could be getting ready to test $300. Apple has support down at $291 so this is where I'd put my stop if I was trading it. I would buy into Apple again between $275-$280 if we saw that area retested. Long term, Apple is a great stock but pullbacks are healthy.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) stock closed at $300.98 on Friday. In some of my recent posts, I pointed out that Apple Inc. closed below the 10 day moving average and could be getting ready to test $300. Apple has support down at $291 so this is where I'd put my stop if I was trading it. I would buy into Apple again between $275-$280 if we saw that area retested. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 11110 on 10/28/10, as the stock market traded flat on a better than expected initial claims report. It looks like Initial jobless claims are finally dropping which would be good for the jobs market. Maybe people are actually getting jobs again.

As far as trading went, I bought a position in Country Style Cooking Restaurant Chain Co., Ltd. (CCSC) which has been dubbed the Mcdonalds (MCD) of China. This has been one of the hottest IPO's of 2010 and we are finally seeing a large pullback.

The rare earth metal stocks tanked due to China lifting the ban on rare earth metal exports. Both MCP & REE tanked.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) is seeing some weakness this afternoon and is trading down around $302. In my last post, I pointed out that Apple Inc. closed below the 10 day moving average and could be getting ready to test $300. Apple has support down at $291 so this is where I'd put my stop if I was trading it. I would buy into Apple again between $275-$280 if we saw that area retested. Long term, Apple is a great stock but pullbacks are healthy.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 11126 on 10/27/10, as the stock market traded lower due to a strong dollar but rallied off the worst levels of the day going into the close. Tomorrow we will receive initial jobless claims that could fall below 450,000 for the first time in a long time. This would probably make the stock market break out over time. The Dow Jones has support located at 10,900 which must hold going forward.

As far as trading went today, I bought some of my HDY back and have been noticing strong volume remains in the stock. This is a sign of accumulation and heavy interest. HDY should break out again on a break above $2.71 which was the high of the day. HDY will fall on a break back below $2.50 but should have some support at $2.38-$2.40.

The rare earth metal stocks were on fire again. There is a rare earth metal ETF coming out tomorrow which will include both Molycorp (MCP) and Rare Element Resources (REE).

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 11169 on 10/26/10, as the stock market traded slightly higher. The Dow Jones bounced off the 10 day moving average but failed to break the recent highs. Oil seems to be stabilizing in the $80's and could be getting ready to break out again soon.

The rare earth metal stocks soared again today. Molycorp (MCP) led the sector with a 12% gain.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 11164 on 10/25/10, as the stock market rallied on better then expected existing home sales. All of the three major stock market moving averages closed in the green today.

As far as trading went today, I was not at my trading desk today but sold my HDY for a nice profit above $3.00 at the open. I will be back at my trading desk tomorrow and will keep you updated on the hottest trades going forward.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) is bouncing off the 10 day moving average today which is located at $308.06. If Apple Inc. would close below this level, I think you would see some technical selling in the stock. Apple is currently trading well above it's 50 & 200 day moving averages. Historically, Apple finds some way to eventually test these averages. While the stock is forming a solid base above $300, the stock still has resistance located at $319. Support on the downside is located at $300 as well as $275.

As far as trading went today, I traded REE several times and would buy pullbacks below $9.60 now. I also bought some of my HDY back at $2.84. HDY has an investor call on Monday which should give us more details into the company.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 11147 on 10/20/10, as the stock market rallied in the morning, pulled back in the afternoon, and then rallied again at the close. Initial jobless claims were better than expected today and Mcdonalds (MCD) reported a solid quarter of earnings.

As far as trading goes, I traded SHZ & REE today for a small profit. I am looking to buy REE for a trade below $10 on Friday. HDY is also on my watchlist. The stock is in a swift downtrend and I am looking for signs of a bottom before I get back in. $2.70 is support as well as $2.50. I like HDY below $2.70.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 10979 on 10/19/10, as the stock market tanked because of Bank of America Corp's (BAC) bad mortgage loan practices. The Dow Jones tanked late in the afternoon after news came out that several companies are going to be suing Bank of America.

I didn't do any trading today and remain totally out of the market and in cash. I would like to buy HDY below $3 which tops my watch list.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) stock is trading lower today after reporting a solid earnings report but light on margins. Apple Inc reported guidance that was light but this company sandbags on guidance historically. Apple is now trading around $302 which is down about 6% from yesterday's close. The low for Apple was around $292 in after hours last night and is now the new support level. If Apple would close back below $292, I think we'd see a retest of $275. Apple will have resistance on the upside located at $319.
