The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9784 on 9/17/09, as the stock market closed flat after a better then expected initial jobless claims figure. The Dow Jones Futures were lower to start the day but improved after we got a great initial claims number. The stock market hit fresh 2009 highs today as we continue to see money come off the sidelines and enter the market. So much for that September correction everyone was looking for. The next major resistance level for the Dow Jones will be located at 10,000. Support can be found at 9600.

Tonight we get a look into earnings out of Palm, Inc. (PALM). The company is expected to report a loss $0.24 per share. The is also a rumor that Palm Pre sales will be slightly worse then expected. Keep an eye on this stock tonight and tomorrow

On Friday, we will receive earnings out of Focus Media Holding Ltd. (FMCN).

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) stock closed over the the 10 and 50 day moving averages yesterday which is very bullish. I am now watching resistance at yesterdays high which was $2.24. If HEB can break above $2.24, we could be in the early stages of a new uptrend. Pullbacks below $2 are now a strong buy. Keep an eye on $2.24 & $2.54 on the upside. GE recently broke above the May 2009 high of $14.43. This is very bullish going forward and pullbacks to $15 or below are now a strong buy. The next major resistance level to watch is the $18.25 high from December 2009. If General Electric Company can close above $18.25, I would look for $20 to be tested. Citigroup showed signs of a bottom on Wednesday as it failed to break Tuesday's low at $4.11. I continue to watch the 10 day moving average located at $4.57 but falling rapidly. As soon as Citigroup stock closes over the 10 day, I will get back in. Until then, Citigroup is still in a downtrend so the risk of falling below $4 is high. Stocks to Watch - 9/17/09 - Stock Market Ideas

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG hit $38.08 Tuesday after an afternoon sell off but is trading back over $40. I will be buying a break above Wednesday's high of day at $41.29 for a trade. I also like pullbacks under $38 with a stop at $34.99

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup stock was showing signs of a rebound Wednesday. I will be buying when the stock finally closes back over the 10 day moving average ( currently located at 4.58 ). Check out my Citigroup Technical Analysis

CEL-SCI Corp. (CVM) - CVM tanked Wednesday afternoon on the following news. Support is located at $1.10 & $1.00. The company was able to raise capital which is bullish but investors seem to be selling the news.

SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) - SIRI was inching higher all day Wednesday. I bought right below $0.69 with anticipation that the stock will soon close over $0.70. I have a stop at $0.675 so it starts moving down I will be out. I plan to add more on a close over $0.70 and a close over $0.78. Check out my SIRI Technical Analysis

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS broke $82.31, which was an important high from August 28th, and is now off to the races. The next major resistance level to watch will be located at $100. I would be buying FAZ for a trade if FAS breaks Wednesday's low of $81.15. Until then, FAS is the one to trade.

Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) - LVS finally broke $20 Wednesday. The next major resistance level to keep an eye on is $20.73 which was the high as well as $25. Pullbacks to the 10 day moving average ( currently at $16.70 ) are a strong buy.

DryShips, Inc. (DRYS) - Drys recently closed over the 200 day moving average and is now breaking out to the upside. The next major resistance level to watch is $8.64 from May 2009. A close above that level would cause even more buying pressure.

Bank of America Corp ( BAC ) - Bank of America Corporation continues to close over the 10 day moving average....very bullish. If BAC can break the $18.24 August high, I think it can run up to $20.

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - Would buy a break above $1.51
