The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 12351 on 3/30/11, as the stock market continues to rally toward new highs.

MCP rallied into the $60's today so I sold out of my position in the stock. I will look to start buying back in the low $50's at some point. I bought some TIV this afternoon which spiked shortly after I bought it. Tri-Valley has some oil and gas assets in California as well as a gold asset in Alaska. It is a small company that I will be doing more research on to see if I want to buy more stock.

MCP broke up into the $57's but sold off late in the day. KOG shot up into the $7's but sold off as well. These two stocks should continue to outperform the stock market over the next three months. I am still looking to reload on FFIV below $92 per share.

I didn't do much trading today but sold my FFIV this afternoon after the stock went up over 4%. I would be a buyer around $92.50 if I see a pullback. I still think it can go to $105 at some point in the next few months.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 12019 on 3/22/11, as the stock market traded flat but more importantly, is holding the recent gains.

MCP exploded higher today so I took this opportunity to sell some shares into the 15% move. I started a new position in F-5 Networks Inc. (FFIV) in the afternoon today. This is a very small position that I plan to add to if the stock moves lower. I am hoping to load up below $90 later in the week. If not, I should be able to make a nice profit on the stock I bought today.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 12044 on 3/11/11, as the stock market rebounded on Friday after a horrible day on Thursday. Oil tested $100 for the first time in over a week.

As far as trading went, I was on vacation all week but was able to make a few trades. I am fully back into KOG after selling a week ago around $7.19. MCP continues to be all over the place again and I plan to add more at $45 or lower if I get the chance. NFLX dropped below $190 on Thursday and has been strong ever since. This should mark the bottom for the stock in the short term. Lastly, HDY continues to hang out in the mid $5's and didn't really get hurt with the momentum oil stock decline given that it never really rallied with them in the first place.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 12170 on 3/4/11, as the stock market dropped on higher oil prices. US Crude Oil tested $105 on Friday which is bearish for the economic recovery.

As I mentioned last night on stockstobuy.org, I sold KOG after earnings and bought back half on the plunge this morning. I would be willing to buy the other half at $6.50 or if the stock starts to see some strength. HDY soared today and the stock is finally reflecting higher Brent Crude prices. HDY is a buy on pullbacks below $5.40ish.

I traded LEI several times today and did very well. MCP broke above $50 finally which is very bullish for both the short and long term. All eyes will be on KOG earnings tonight.

Top Oil Stocks 2011

Oil & Gas stocks continue to be hot as oil trades up near $100 in 2011. Below is a list of the top rated Oil & Gas stocks. Check out my Top Oil Stock Picks in 2011. Also, I would keep tabs on the latest developments in the Eagle Ford Shale & Bakken Shale.

Chesapeake Energy Corporation (CHK) - Chesapeake Energy Corporation (CHK) continues to surge and hit a new 52 week high Monday. CHK has really ramped up in the Eagle Ford Shale & Bakken Shale in the past six months. They also signed a huge JV in the Niobrara Shale. CHK is now a legit USA Oil Play.

Western Refining, Inc. (WNR) - WNR closed up 1% Monday. WNR is still up 54% in 2011.

Flotek Industries, Inc. (FTK) - FTK was flat on Monday. A break above $7.50 would be very bullish. Look for the volume to pick up as a sign of a new break out.

EnCana Corporation (ECA) - Encana Corp (ECA) sold a 50% stake in their Montney Shale assets. ECA stock is a buy below $32. Look for them to hit Oil in the Collingwood Shale in 2011-2012. ECA closed at $32.54 on Monday.

Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation (COG) - Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation (COG) has some nice oil assets around the USA and is the first company to talk about the Chainman Shale.
