The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9241 on 8/11/09, as the stock market fell on more profit taking and the fact that the financials were weak. The Dow Jones Futures opened the morning flat but after the open, the sellers showed up in droves. The Dow Jones was down over 100 at one point but rallied back after a positive treasury auction in the afternoon. Tomorrow will be a huge day as we get the Federal Reserve decision and statement. I continue to watch the 10 day moving average which located at 9248 today. Tomorrow the 10 day will be near 9270 so there could be a big move ahead for the markets in the next few days.

The BDI data is critical for how the DryBulk Shipping Stocks such as DryShips Inc ( DRYS ), Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd( EXM ), Diana Shipping Inc ( DSX ), Genco Shipping & Trading Limited ( GNK ), TBS International Limited ( TBSI ), Navios Maritime ( NM ), Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. ( EGLE ), Paragon Shipping Inc. ( PRGN ), Star Bulk Carriers Corp. ( SBLK ), and OceanFreight Inc ( OCNF ) will trade during the day. It seems as though everyone is watching Libor rates these days. Today's Libor Rates for 8/11/09, are: 1 Month Libor Rate - 0.275% & 3 Month Libor Rate - 0.454%. The overnight Libor rate is 0.241%. As you can see, Libor Rates have changed today, August 11, 2009. The overnight and 3 month libor rates dropped while the 1 month stayed the same.

Stock Market Futures

The Dow Jones had a mini pullback Monday but has been very strong at or near the 10 day moving average since this latest run started in July. I am still watching for a close below the 10 day moving average for a sign of weakness and to become more cautious with my trading right now. I feel we will retest the 50 day moving average in the coming months which will provide a great buying opportunity. The only question is at what level will the 50 day be tested. Resistance - 9438. Stocks to Watch - 8/11/09 - Stock Market Ideas

Freddie Mac (FRE) - Freddie Mac posted an earnings profit late Friday which sent the stock soaring on Monday. Looking at the charts, there is resistance at $1.42, $1.50, and $1.54 but then I think the stock could really run after $1.54.

Fannie Mae (FNM) - Fannie Mae rallied Monday because of Freddie Mac. Key resistance levels for FNM stock are $1.00 and $1.43.

YRC Worldwide Inc. (YRCW) - YRCW stock exploded again on Monday as the union vote went well. I am watching the 200 day moving average which is coming into play at $3.11. A close over the 200 day MA would be very bullish and the first time this has happened since September 2008.

Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) - LVS stock close over $11.84 Friday, the next major resistance level is located at 16.81. I think it will go there in the next few months but if I see a pullback to the 10 day moving average ( $11.02 ) I will be a buyer as well as the 50 day moving average ( $9.11 ). LVS is breaking out from a 3 months sideways trend.

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG ran to another high of $29.89 this morning but failed at $30. Support is located around $28 and then down to $24. I'd be a buyer if AIG breaks $30 but the easy money has already been made from last weeks run.

State Street Corp. (STT) - The stock market was hit hard Monday afternoon because of an SEC filing out of State Street. STT says that 625 Million in reserves for sub prime exposure may not be sufficient with regard to lawsuits. STT could be headed back to the 50 day moving average located at $47.79.

CROCS Inc. (CROX) - CROX stock was on fire again Monday after the company said they will become profitable again in 2010. I still don't see any major resistance until $6.75-$7. Monday's high of $6.41 will be a minor resistance level going forward.

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - I continue to watch CTIC as they have an FDA application decision coming up on August 24th. CTIC could really move up in anticipation of a positive outcome.

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) - I continue to watch HEB...waiting for a break above $2.17 to jump in for a quick trade. $2.00 must hold on the downside or the selling will pick up heavily.

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - I am watching Friday's low on FAS which was $72.43. If this is broken, I will jump in FAZ for a trade. If FAS closes below $72.43, I will take a shot and hold FAZ overnight for the following day.

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup made a lower high at $4.11 on Monday and continues to have trouble holding the $4 level. As soon as Citigroup closes over $4.05, I will be getting back in for a trade. I also like pullbacks to the $3.50 area which is now support once again.

Bank of America Corp ( BAC ) - Bank of America Corporation continues to stall after a big run last week. Still watching $17.93 on the upside and like pullbacks to the 10 and 50 day moving averages. Check out my Bank of America technical analysis.
