The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9338 on 8/10/09, as the stock market fell on profit taking and a downgrade of Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM). Shares of RIMM fell 5% as UBS downgraded the stock from Buy to Neutral. The price target was also cut to $88. The Dow Jones Futures started the day lower, tried to bounce several times throughout the day, but ended up failing going into the close. The volume was light as most traders are waiting to take positions until the Federal Reserve decision and statement later this week.

The Dow Jones is back retesting the 10 day moving average ( currently at 9230 but rising each day ) in which it has not closed below this this area since the Dow bounced back over 8250 in early July. A close below the 10 day would spark a retest on 9000-9050. Check out some of the events I will be watching for Tuesday.

Baltic Dry Index Shipping Rates 8/10/09 BDI

The BDI data is critical for how the DryBulk Shipping Stocks such as DryShips Inc ( DRYS ), Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd( EXM ), Diana Shipping Inc ( DSX ), Genco Shipping & Trading Limited ( GNK ), TBS International Limited ( TBSI ), Navios Maritime ( NM ), Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. ( EGLE ), Paragon Shipping Inc. ( PRGN ), Star Bulk Carriers Corp. ( SBLK ), and OceanFreight Inc ( OCNF ) will trade during the day. As you probably know, the Dry Bulk Shipping index can tell you a lot about the state of the World Economy. When Bulk Shipping Rates are at all time highs, the World Economy is outstanding. When Bulk Shipping Rates are as low as they have been lately, it signifies that the world economy has come to a screeching halt

Bank of America Support & Resistance Levels - 8/10/09

Resistance Levels: $17.35, $17.93

BAC fell short of the $17.93 resistance level from last December and the short term high of $17.35. These two levels will be very important resistance going forward. If BAC can close above $17.93, I think it could run toward $20-$22. I will be a buyer of pullbacks to the 10 day moving average and get more aggressive if Bank of America would retrace back to the 50 day moving average.

AIG stock is finally back to pre split levels. There is major resistance at the $29-$30 level but then nothing major until $35. AIG finally closed over the 200 day moving average for the first time since last fall. This is another bullish signal going forward. Support is located $23-$24. Stocks to Watch - 8/10/09 - Stock Market Ideas

YRC Worldwide Inc. (YRCW) - YRWC stock exploded higher Friday afternoon on the following news - YRC Worldwide expects union vote results Friday - Once the voting results come out, I will begin to trade this stock. Watching the 200 day moving average at $3.12.

CROCS Inc. (CROX) - CROX stock was on fire Friday after the company said they will become profitable again in 2010. I don't see any major resistance until $6.75-$7.

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG reported better then expected earnings on Friday morning. The stock topped out at $28 before pulling back to $24. A break up through $28 would be bullish and i'd expect Wednesday's high of $29.39 to be tested.

Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) - It appears LVS stock will finally close over $11.84 Friday. The next major resistance level I see is $16.81. I'd be buying any major pullbacks.

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) - I continue to watch HEB...waiting for a break above $2.17 to jump in for a quick trade.

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - CTIC continues to trade in the $1.50's after releasing earnings Thursday. On August 24th, the company is expecting a ruling from the FDA whether to accept their application for Pixantrone to treat relapsed or refractory aggressive non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Shares of CTIC could catch a bid leading up to August 24th.

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS just keeps breaking out. FAS has now made 13 straight higher daily lows. I am now watching Friday's low of $72.43....as soon as FAS breaks through $72.43, I will jump into FAZ for a trade.

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup broke through $4 on a Jim Cramer buy call. Citigroup has had major problems closing over $4 and $4.05. If Citigroup is able to do this, I think the stock could retest the double top in the $4.40's. I will have a new chart by Monday morning.

Bank of America Corp ( BAC ) - Bank of America Corporation appears to be stalling here after an incredible run. I am still watching major resistance at $17.93. I like pullbacks to $15 and also the 50 day moving average located at $12.94. I will have a new chart on Monday.

Stock Market Futures

The Dow Jones surged on a better then expected jobs report on Friday. I will be watching how the Dow acts at 9500 as that is a resistance level of interest. Pullbacks near the 10 day moving average have been a great buying opportunity.

Look for a pullback to begin when the Dow Jones closes below the 10 day moving average which hasn't happened in a month.
