The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9256 on 8/6/09, as the stock market went down slightly after Cisco Systems, Inc. (CSCO) reported decent earnings but had a foggy outlook. We also received a better then expected initial jobless claims report. Still, the stock market fell! The Dow Jones Futures opened pre market higher but the markets fell right after the opening bell.
The big event on Friday will be the jobs report that is due out at 8:30am. This is usually a stock market mover so stay tuned!

Dow Jones 10 day moving average watch: I continue to watch the Dow Jones and the 10 day moving average. The Dow Jones hasn't closed below the 10 day moving average since closing back over it on July 13th. A close below this level would make me cautious I would be expecting a correction to come in the stock market. 9200 is a solid support level as well as 9000....after that, you have the 50 day moving average at 8680 which would be a strong buy. This 10 day moving average indicator has not always worked but I find it right 75% of the time. Sure worth keeping an eye on! Check out some of the events I will be watching for Friday.

Baltic Dry Index Shipping Rates 8/6/09 BDI

The BDI data is critical for how the DryBulk Shipping Stocks such as DryShips Inc ( DRYS ), Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd( EXM ), Diana Shipping Inc ( DSX ), Genco Shipping & Trading Limited ( GNK ), TBS International Limited ( TBSI ), Navios Maritime ( NM ), Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. ( EGLE ), Paragon Shipping Inc. ( PRGN ), Star Bulk Carriers Corp. ( SBLK ), and OceanFreight Inc ( OCNF ) will trade during the day. As you probably know, the Dry Bulk Shipping index can tell you a lot about the state of the World Economy. When Bulk Shipping Rates are at all time highs, the World Economy is outstanding. When Bulk Shipping Rates are as low as they have been lately, it signifies that the world economy has come to a screeching halt

Resistance Levels: $3.77, $3.83, $4, $4.05 $4.25

Support Levels: $3.50, $3.38, $3.21

Citigroup is getting ready to open pre market at $3.69 today on 8/6/09. After digging deep, it appears there will be some pretty nice resistance in the $3.77-$3.83 area. After that, there is nothing until $4-$4.05. A close over $4.05 would be super bullish and I think C stock could make a run towards the double top resistance located at $4.41 - $4.48. If you see above, the 200 day moving average is also coming into play...A close over the 200 day would be a huge long term buy signal. I would be a buyer of pullbacks to the 10 & 50 day moving averages around $3.10. For more Technical Analysis - Go Here

As you can see, Libor Rates have changed today, August 6, 2009. The overnight and 3 month libor went down while the 1 month stayed the same.

The Dow Jones came within 40 points of the 10 day moving average before bouncing. As long as we remain over this level, we can shoot higher at any moment. One of these days we will close below the 10 day moving average and retest the 50 day which would be very healthy and a great buying opportunity. Stocks to Watch - 8/6/09 - Stock Market Ideas

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - Ok, well after watching paint dry for about 2 weeks, AIG stock is finally exploding back up to the pre reverse split levels. I bought the stock Wednesday morning, sold a little bit above $19 ( so I don't feel like a pig because it went up so much) and will hold the rest of my shares until Friday at the earliest. Check out my AIG stock analysis for more information...I think I explained my thoughts very clear on that post.

Fannie Mae (FNM) & Freddie Mac (FRE) - FNM, FRE stocks are spiking because of AIG....this is just what always happens, can't explain it - they all move together because supposively they are all " zombie companies."

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS continues the major run and has now made a high low each of the last 11 trading sessions. When this trend changes, traders will be piling back into FAZ. Keep an eye on the low on Wednesday of for FAS of $65.86

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Continue to watch Citigroup as the stock broke last weeks high of $3.38. Could it be possible that Citigroup soon retests $4? Check out my Citigroup Technical Analysis.

Bank of America Corp ( BAC ) - Bank of America Corporation is closing in on the next major resistance level at $17.93. Check out my BAC technical analysis

DryShips, Inc. (DRYS) - I am also watching Dryships for a break above $7.10 which was last weeks high. I have a trading alert already set up, I will be buying DRYS on a break above $7.10

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - I am currently in CTIC at $1.56 from yesterday's move up. Earnings are tomorrow and If CTIC breaks back below $1.50 I will be selling my shares.

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) - HEB stock showed some signs of life Wednesday. I got an email from someone telling me that the FDA decision on Ampligen will be coming out this fall. The company hasn't come out with a press release on this so it cannot be confimed. There are all kinds of rumors going around right now. From a technical standpoint, a close above $2.23 would be bullish.
