The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 8799 on 6/12/09, as the stock market traded sideways on a boring summer Friday. The Dow Jones Futures opened pre market lower and things didn't really change until the afternoon session where stocks rallied off thew lows. Gold Prices fell hard as traders fled the commodity. The major stock market averages continue to hang it there without any major pullbacks. Bull Market's tend to not let people in!

Baltic Dry Index Shipping Rates 6/12/09 BDI

The BDI data is critical for how the DryBulk Shipping Stocks such as DryShips Inc ( DRYS ), Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd( EXM ), Diana Shipping Inc ( DSX ), Genco Shipping & Trading Limited ( GNK ), TBS International Limited ( TBSI ), Navios Maritime ( NM ), Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. ( EGLE ), Paragon Shipping Inc. ( PRGN ), Star Bulk Carriers Corp. ( SBLK ), and OceanFreight Inc ( OCNF ) will trade during the day. As you probably know, the Dry Bulk Shipping index can tell you a lot about the state of the World Economy. When Bulk Shipping Rates are at all time highs, the World Economy is outstanding. When Bulk Shipping Rates are as low as they have been lately, it signifies that the world economy has come to a screeching halt!

Stock Market Futures

The Dow Jones broke to a new 6 month high today hitting 8878 before pulling back. There is major resistance between 8800 - 9000 and that is why we sell off every time we jump into this area. I still think we will hit at least 9000 before any major pullback. Support for the Dow Jones is between 8500-8600. A close below 8500 from this point on would be very bearish.

Stocks to Watch - 6/12/09 - Stock Market Ideas

Capstone Turbine Corp. (CPST) - CPST stock soared today after the company released the following news - Photo Release -- Capstone C30 Successfully Integrated Into Ford Vehicle by Langford Performance Engineering Ltd. CPST has resistance at $1.18 and then there really isn't anything until $1.40 and $1.67. Support is at the 200 day moving average - $0.99

Ford Motor Company (F) - Speaking of Ford, the stock has hit a double top in the $6.50's and is trading down Thursday despite a strong market. Keep an eye on two support levels of $5.75 and $5.50. If these are broken, look for F stock to retest $5 again. As soon as Ford closes over $6.54, a new break out will occur.

Spongetech Delivery Systems, Inc. ( SPNG ) - SPNG stock continues to skyrocket. If you were watching the Yankees Red Sox game Wednesday Night in the 7th inning, you probably noticed the Spongtech ad in back of home plate. Great advertising! SPNG broke $0.20 Thursday and it testing resistance of around $0.25 per share. The volume continues to be solid and I would now be selling a break back below $0.20.

Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation ( SSCCQ ) - SSCCQ is a pink sheets stock that has been soaring this week along with SPNG. Keep an eye on it! Smurfit-Stone Recycling and Waste Solutions Featured at Waste Expo, June 8-11, in Las Vegas.

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) - HEB stock broke below the 10 day moving average on Thursday morning but then surged around 1pm on heavy volume. Investors continue to wait on the FDA decision ruling on their drug Ampligen. If the news ever comes out, I will be posting it on my blog ASAP!

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - CTIC stock is looking weak and testing support of $1.50. A close below $1.50 would be bearish and I would be exiting my position if I had one. I am waiting for CTIC to close back over $1.85 before I get in again. With the 10 day moving average located at
$1.70, this is the most CTIC has traded under the 10 day moving average since the stock was in the $0.30's

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (JAZZ) - JAZZ stock has been a day traders delight for the past two trading sessions. Friday, the company will be making one additional presentation in Denmark. JAZZ should be on all traders radars for the next two weeks at least.

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Direxion Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - Wednesday, FAS stock traded in between the support zone of $9.82-$10.00. Thursday, FAS was back testing the resistance area in the $10.80's. The fact that $9.82 held is very bullish for current FAS holders. A close above $11 should start a new break out.

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup stock is dead money right now, I am now watching for a close back over $3.70 to get back in the stock and will add to my position above $4. $3.32 continues to be solid support.
