The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9899 on 6/9/10, as the stock market rallied in the morning and then rolled over during the afternoon. This is the type of action we see in bear markets!
BP (BP) stock dropped to $29 on Wednesday which represents a 50% decline from before the oil spill. Out of the money puts have started to trade actively down at the $20 & $7.50 area. Usually this is just investors buying protection but is still very concerning. Energy and Tech stocks have been rolling over and are two sectors to watch closely.
Watch the S&P 500 at 1045, a close below this level would be bearish and we will have to look toward 1000 as the next possible target.
