The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 10434 on 6/17/10, as the stock market drifted higher on a worse then expected Philly Fed report. The Dow Jones Futures were higher in pre market and opened higher but quickly fell right after then open. Several rally attempts failed during the afternoon and but a late day surged help put the stock market averages in the green.

Friday is a quadruple witching options expiration event which may cause some volatility. When the stock market starts trading again next week, we will see if this latest rally attempt is sustainable or not. The S&P 500 continues to close above the 200 day moving average which is bullish. If this changes and the S&P 500 closes back below this moving average for a few days, I expect more selling pressure to hit the market.
