The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 10564 on 3/9/10, as the stock market traded flat on light volume. The financials such as Citigroup (NYSE:C) were on fire due to positive analyst comments. The Dow Jones was up over 50 points at one point but fell apart in late afternoon trading. The next major catalysts for the stock market will be the start of April which is also the start of the 2nd quarter. April is a great month historically and we should also see the iPad ship as well as a positive jobs report. I think the markets will drift higher until then and maybe peak in May before a summer correction. This correction should last into the end of July or the first few weeks of August before another rally. Keep in mind, a lot of political events such as mid term elections can change my opinion. Just something to think about as we go forward. I am holding AAPL & GMCR right now but actively trading.
