The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 10402 on 2/18/10, as the stock market began the day lower, but then went green. The Dow Jones Futures were down around 50 in early pre market trading as we received news overnight that the Federal Reserve raised rates at the discount window. However, wall street quickly shook this off throughout the day and oil tested $80 per barrel as the fundamentals are now catching up with the price. Morgan Stanley came out with some positive comments on the oil drillers and I took this opportunity to buy Transocean Ltd. (RIG) this morning.

The Dow Jones has now closed above the 50 day moving average for the second straight day but is stalling out at 10,400. As long as the Dow stays above the 50 day, there is a high probability that more buyers will step in and take it to 10,600.
