The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 10120 on 1/28/10, as the stock market fell but rebounded in the final hour as it appears that Ben Bernanke will be renominated to a new term as Federal Reserve Chairman. The Dow Jones Futures began the day higher on better then expected earnings but then the stock market fell going into the afternoon. A bounce in the final hour was short lived and the stock market sold off going into the close.
The S&P 500 briefly traded below the 1080 support level but then bounce back above 1090 as buyers stepped in. The next several trading sessions will be critical for the stock market technicals. If the S&P 500 closes below 1080, things could get even more volatile!
