The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 10308 on 12/17/09, as the stock market tanked on another weak trading day for the financials. Stocks such as BAC & C were lower due to the recent equity offerings. BAC broke $15 which caused additional selling in the afternoon.
Tonight we will receive earnings out of RIMM, PALM, and ORCL which could move the technology sector Friday. I am expecting upside if RIMM reports earnings of $1.06 and provides good guidance.
The S&P 500 fell back below 1100 on Thursday. Support is located between 1080-1085, if this area is violated, you could really see some big sellers start to liquidate positions going into 2010. Keep an eye on 1080.
