The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 10501 on 12/14/09, as the stock market went higher on a bailout of Dubai from Abu Dabi over the weekend. We also saw a huge acquisition in the energy sector with Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) purchasing XTO Energy Inc. (XTO).
The Dow Jones Futures began the day up 60 but Exxon Mobil Corporation ( XOM ) stock fell throughout the trading day. This caused the Dow Jones to only be up around 25 points.
Another big story today was the fact the Citigroup will be paying back TARP money. Citigroup's stock broke the $3.80 support level and is now testing the 200 day moving average.
