The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9763 on 10/28/09, as the stock market went down on a weak technology sector as well as a worse then expected new homes sales figure.
The Dow Jones Futures began the trading day down 40 but things got worse after the new homes sales report disappointed. The technology sector led the stock market lower as the NASDAQ plunged for the fourth straight day.
The Dow Jones has support at the 50 day moving average which is located at 9697. I expected this support level to hold in the short term unless some terribly bad news would surface. I believe this level will provide a short term bounce. I will look to buy a beaten down stock such as LVS for a trade. If you are looking to buy this dip for the longer term, Apple Inc. (AAPL) has come down nicely from the recent 52 week high. Even Alcoa, Inc. (AA) is having an attractive pullback under $12 today. Check out some additional events I will be watching for Thursday. If you are a stock trader, check out my stocks to watch report for tomorrow.
