The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9749 on 9/23/09, as the stock market traded down after breaking above 9900 on the Fed Statement. The Dow Jones Futures started the day slightly higher but traded down right after the open. After we sold off in the morning trading session, stocks rallied and then exploded higher after the Federal Reserve came out and said that the Economy is picking up. The Dow Jones topped out at 9917 but then reversed and dropped over 150 points. As I have been saying over the past month, breaking and holding 10,000 will be no easy task. Tomorrow we get another dose of economic data such as initial jobless claims. Check out some of the events I will be watching for Thursday.
