The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9154 on 7/30/09, as the stock market surged on better then expected earnings as well as an General Electric upgrade. The Dow Jones Futures started the day higher and right after the stock market opened, stocks took of to the upside. The S&P 500 tested 1000 and the Nasdaq briefly broke 2000 as shorts were again forced to cover. In the final half hour, the stock market gave back some gains going into the close. All eyes will be on the 2nd quarter GDP figure which will be released Friday at 8:30am EST. Check out some of the events I will be watching for Friday.
