The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 8513 on 5/29/09, as the stock market had a late day surge on a boring summer Friday. The Dow Jones Futures started the day higher but as the day went on, the stock market gave back most of the gains. At about 3:30pm, stocks moved higher on what looked to be short covering on very low volume. The only real major news out today was the fact that Gold touched 980 and Oil spiked over 66 per barrel. All eyes will be on the ASCO biotech conference over the weekend as well as the jobs report next Friday. Check out some of the events I will be watching for Monday.
