The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 8330 on 5/14/09, as the stock market rebounded today led by the financials. The Dow Jones Futures were flat coming into the day but stocks rallied right after the open. Initial Jobless Claims spiked up last week and is something to watch going forward. One of the reasons for the rally in the past two months has been the slower rise in claims.

Ag stocks such as Potash ( POT ) and Mosaic Inc ( MOS ) continue to surge. I love these two stocks on any significant pullbacks.

The next few days will be critical for the markets as far as technicals go. Was this bounce the start of a new leg up or just a pause before we break down even lower? Only time will tell.
